Turbo19 Posted October 11, 2012 Share #14 Posted October 11, 2012 LOL! In all seriousness, when my hometown agency lost our last bunch of RTS's and Orion V CNG's I shed a silent tear or two. It's hard losing something you grew up and lived with, but honestly, you guys are lucky these fleets are still here. I can't say much else other than get those last rides and enjoy them, I sure did. ttcsubwayfan Posted October 12, 2012 Share #18 Posted October 12, 2012 Also, you guys should be glad that you still have so much high floors in the fleet. In Toronto, we have less than 200 Orion Vs and 50 RTSs; the former will be on their way out soon and the latter still has a few years to go, but is a rattly crap box which is restricted from weekend use. CDTA Posted October 12, 2012 Share #20 Posted October 12, 2012 I really am going to miss them when they're gone. I'm thinking about buying one in a few years, because as ridiculous as this may sound, I associate the sound of that engine with my childhood. Man, nothings makes you sadder than seeing a bus you've ridden your whole life, with that little red sticker on it. I was over by SC about a month ago, and I saw #4974 with that red tape, and it made me realize "Oh my god. Even the RTS's are getting retired." It was a little upsetting. Granted, I have more O7 memories, living uptown when they rolled out, but I used to always try to ride the Bx15, Bx7, or M100, just to get the O5's. Also HOLY SHIT WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THAT ONE!?
B3 Via Av U Posted October 12, 2012 Share #21 Posted October 12, 2012 Hmm...The Orions, RTSs, and MCI's should have their flipdots set to GOODBYE NYC BUSFANS as they are towed off to scrap. WE'LL MISS YOU
