Wheelz Posted October 23, 2012 Share #1 Posted October 23, 2012 I can't seem to every get a really good deal on Amtrak fare when planning a trip, I'm talking about it being actually competitive to say taking the Greyhound. For short trips it's OK but for longer ones I find it to be not worth it when it comes down to price although I guess comfort does have its price. I don't mind getting some sort of membership of something either to get a good deal if necessary. Insight appreciated.
youngblaze Posted October 23, 2012 Share #2 Posted October 23, 2012 Well if you look at the NYP - Montreal fares it's only 65 bucks. Other than that, I agree, everything is so damn expensive.
Art Vandelay Posted October 27, 2012 Share #3 Posted October 27, 2012 Book well ahead of time. Ticket prices are based on how full trains are.

brokecrazy Posted November 2, 2012 Share #5 Posted November 2, 2012 Amtrak has sales from time to time. Go on the website. Usually has to be purchased in advance.
