The “No Tokens” display on turnstile screens — a mildly irritating symbol of bureaucratic inertia — is finally about to completely disappear, the says. The is implementing new software that provides much more useful and current information: the date your seven- or 30-day MetroCard expires. The heads-up will appear when you swipe your card to pay the fare. (Regular MetroCards users already get their balance information.)
