DJ MC Posted November 3, 2012 Share #1 Posted November 3, 2012 Part 1 These pics here show the construction of the rebuilding of the new Winter Park Amtrak station in Downtown Winter Park. Most of the middle platform was being ripped up when I got there (what was left of it). The trains had to be spotted because the platforms on either side had already been removed. DJ MC Posted November 4, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted November 4, 2012 Part 2 This just shows mostly the trains arriving and leaving, but in the first pic you can see the crossing has been redone. Sorry if some of the pics are blurry.
User Posted November 4, 2012 Share #5 Posted November 4, 2012 Great pictures! It looks like the construction hasn't disrupted any of the Amtrak service down there.
DJ MC Posted November 5, 2012 Author Share #6 Posted November 5, 2012 Great pictures! It looks like the construction hasn't disrupted any of the Amtrak service down there. Actually it has, but not in this area. The construction in the Sanford and Deland area is what played a role in many delays with trains here. DJ MC Posted November 5, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted November 5, 2012 Part 3 These next pics show a completed section of the platform on the other side of the tracks, which was put to use. Note 91 was an all coach train today and the heritage unit was leading today as well. Sorry if the pics have sun glare in them as I did my best to avoid that. That's all until I go back to the station again. Bonus images. These images are what the station is going to look like.
