Orion VII 4 Life Posted November 6, 2012 Share #26 Posted November 6, 2012 My question though is will we see Academy use it tour/charter fleet in the NYC-NJ emergency shuttle service since the demand for charter/tour market will be down. Academy regularly uses their "charter" J4500s and 102s on their commuter services. They also have a fleet of ex-Rutgers Nova LFSAs and New Flyer D60LFs, though much of them have been transferred to their operations at NYU and Boston University, possibly others too. theaveragejoe Posted November 6, 2012 Share #27 Posted November 6, 2012 I was talking their Highway coach fleet, I know the transit buses in the NYU and Boston University fleet would most be used in those contract services
FamousNYLover Posted November 6, 2012 Share #28 Posted November 6, 2012 Even Javits Center exhibiton shuttle buses also uses Academy fleet as well.
Orion VII 4 Life Posted November 6, 2012 Share #29 Posted November 6, 2012 I was talking their Highway coach fleet, I know the transit buses in the NYU and Boston University fleet would most be used in those contract services Some of them are unmarked and used in some charter operations, like the parking shuttles at the Meadowlands from MetLife Stadium to the Izod Center. They'd probably use those here.
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted November 6, 2012 Share #30 Posted November 6, 2012 So this means that SEPTA buses won't be operating in NY. Well that sucks.
GojiMet86 Posted November 6, 2012 Share #31 Posted November 6, 2012 So this means that SEPTA buses won't be operating in NY. Well that sucks. As much as we'd like to see them, no, they probably won't. However, it looks like they'll be directly across the river at Weehawken.
theaveragejoe Posted November 7, 2012 Share #32 Posted November 7, 2012 Besides the SEPTA buses I wonder if Coach USA brought in buses/coaches in from its other operations to help out on its shuttle routes?
