46Dover Posted April 12, 2014 Share #602 Posted April 12, 2014 So I'm on 7212 now on the 139...dammmmm these seats are HARD. Back row got the most comfy seats in the bus hands down and they don't even recline. Also there actually is a small luggage bin under the bus next to the front door and I was gonna use it but the driver told me to bring my stuff inside. I've noticed zips on the NJT luggage compartments. They've been doing that ever since the Boston Marathon incident I've been meaning to say something about having not seen a Designline in awhile when I deadhead into NY/Port, but then started seeing a few and said never mind.... 553 Bridgeton Posted April 12, 2014 Share #603 Posted April 12, 2014 We are only suppose to use the first luggae compartments by the service door. Even before the boston bombing this was still a rule. As for the zips we've been using them. Especially on the left side.
DaTransitMan4608 Posted April 23, 2014 Share #604 Posted April 23, 2014 Noticed a service pattern with the DesignLines. Whenever they come out, they seem to do only one 139 run and they're also put on the lines that aren't on Route 9 (mainly the 133, 137, & 138, they aren't on the 135 because of Exit 120 P/R). NJT has had a history of not using the luggage compartments dating back to 9/11 that I can recall.

I wonder if MCI is still (as rumored) going to take back the DesignLines in exchange for 13 new MCIs or if they'll be staying.
DaTransitMan4608 Posted May 21, 2014 Share #615 Posted May 21, 2014 Well we can now confirm that these buses are gonna have the ML-style seats, which may also be the case for the first batch of new CNGs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

DaTransitMan4608 Posted May 21, 2014 Share #620 Posted May 21, 2014 Hopefully the first batch comes soon.... I know those passengers are gonna complain about the ML-style seats but they're just gonna have to deal with it and be glad they're no longer gonna be crammed into a D4000. The roster numbers could go as follows: 7200-7348 8113-8197;8301-8364 9055-9202 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

GojiMet86 Posted May 22, 2014 Share #623 Posted May 22, 2014 Why can't they make the fleet numbers nice and consequential, instead of alternating between 40 and 45 footers, lol.
busdude2 Posted May 22, 2014 Share #624 Posted May 22, 2014 What is up wit this ml stlye seating smh Why not put them all together start at 9101-9247 ? 147 buses total. Still have the 9700 and 9800's for new artics.
