UlmerPark B6 0 Posted July 23, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 23, 2008 Look at this. Ulmer Park's #8790 being towed away. The amazing part is that the bus was at Ocean Parkway the whole day and the driver never reported the bus becuase everything broke down. The dispatcher found that the bus never came back. Then the B/O found out (oh he's so smart) that he could call the depot with his cellphone. The bus borke down with a teardown engine and then the electircty (main power source) was overheated and burned. Another weird thing is that the back bottom was white-backed but the top was black. Example: Well here it is: Some other photos from today in another thread.
trainfan22 2,248 Posted July 23, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2008 Well if you ride on routes with Orion VII's on it stuff like this is very common. But yes great buses like the RTS braking down is RARE. UP must have been slacking on maintaining that bus. Sounds pretty bad hope she doesn't end up at EC depot. Don't worry, that bus ain't to Eastchester yet. They can try fix her right up, EC would be a last solution to send that bus.

They should replace it with the one out of 9656. I think 9260's engine is already gone.
