traildriver Posted December 15, 2012 Share #5 Posted December 15, 2012 I find it interesting the position that Lakefront is in....several years ago,, they were a Trailways member company, and part of the Boston-Albany-Syracuse-Buffalo-Cleveland pool operation with Peter Pan, Adirondack, and Empire Trailways, in direct competition with Greyhound. Then all that changed when Greyhound started pooling with Trailways carriers. Now that has changed where they are part of Greyhound's largest competitor once again..... At one time, they were protected from New York Trailways expansion into Cleveland, due to the 'no member competition' clause in the Trailways association. That is no longer the case.... Guess Greyhound will have to be running their own service now where Lakefront used to cover for them? This will do well for Megabus/Coach USA. This will do well for Megabus/Coach USA. Cover for them? I wouldn't call it that....where NYT used to 'feed' Lake Front at Buffalo on their one a day trip to Cleveland, a sort of remnant of the pool I mentioned, now Greyhound has added their own trip at that time which now gets all of NYT's connections..... So who lost out, now?
