Very nice pictures

For what occasion the vintage train did run ?

In December they run a special train every weekend from 2nd Ave. (F) station to Queens Plaza (E)(M)(R) station.

So, New York run a special Christmass train like Chicago.

Even better as this is a vintage one. :D

In my city Paris, the old Sprague metro train that used to run during heritage days are not anymore allowed to run with passengers since 2010. :(

Thanks :)

Yes the MTA runs a special vintage Christmas train, it has been done every year since 2007. I have attended at least once every year, and I also attended the first ever trip back in 2007

Here is a video I shot of it back in 2007 on the first Holiday train run.

What is the white car on the middle of the train that we see in the video ? First class ?

Its a R7A; it just got a different paint scheme on it.

that white car is Car #1575, it had an accident and was re-done in the R-10 style which is why it is different from the other cars. the interior is also different and a lot more modern-looking than the rest of the cars.

hey Bill I got a question about the (3) train pic, was the train stopped or was that taken when the train was moving? I am trying to determine if that station has space behind where the train stops like many IND stops to take a photo from the back.

The train was starting to move when I took the photo. That was taken at 14th Street there is A little bit room in the back of the platform but not much, unless if you have a really wide angle lens you will not be able to fit the whole train with 18mm
