Minato ku Posted December 12, 2012 Share #9 Posted December 12, 2012 So, New York run a special Christmass train like Chicago. Even better as this is a vintage one. In my city Paris, the old Sprague metro train that used to run during heritage days are not anymore allowed to run with passengers since 2010. error46146 Posted December 20, 2012 Author Share #10 Posted December 20, 2012 Thanks Yes the MTA runs a special vintage Christmas train, it has been done every year since 2007. I have attended at least once every year, and I also attended the first ever trip back in 2007 Here is a video I shot of it back in 2007 on the first Holiday train run. error46146 Posted December 21, 2012 Author Share #15 Posted December 21, 2012 that white car is Car #1575, it had an accident and was re-done in the R-10 style which is why it is different from the other cars. the interior is also different and a lot more modern-looking than the rest of the cars. lilbluefoxie Posted December 26, 2012 Share #21 Posted December 26, 2012 hey Bill I got a question about the train pic, was the train stopped or was that taken when the train was moving? I am trying to determine if that station has space behind where the train stops like many IND stops to take a photo from the back.
error46146 Posted December 26, 2012 Author Share #22 Posted December 26, 2012 The train was starting to move when I took the photo. That was taken at 14th Street there is A little bit room in the back of the platform but not much, unless if you have a really wide angle lens you will not be able to fit the whole train with 18mm
