Lost or Stolen MetroCard? File a Claim Online

[float=left]post-5097-0-90116800-1355237512_thumb.jpg[/float]The (MTA) is making it easier to file a claim if the 30-day unlimited MetroCard or 7-day Express Bus Plus MetroCard you purchased with a credit or debit card at an (MTA) vending machine is ever lost or stolen. Now, in addition to calling 511, you have the option to file a claim online directly on the MTA’s website.

 

To file a claim, visit the MetroCard eFix website and click on “Balance Protection Claim.”

It's about time, but anytime I have a problem I just report it lost since I pay with a card, this way I get refunded in a couple of days. Besides seeing that I only have a problem maybe once or twice a year it is far easier that way this way I'm waiting months to get my money back.
