Turbo19 Posted December 25, 2012 #1 Posted December 25, 2012 As a Omnitrans rider since 1996, I hold many connections (pun intended) to this location. This was my hometown transit center. It was here where I basically became a transit fan. Every time I visit, I can't help but reminisce my past. It seems as if it were only yesterday this place was full of buses from the 1980's & 1990's. I've watched this transit center grow from a 4-bay bus loop to the much larger center it is today, but enough with the life story. These photos were taken at the Fontana Transit Center in Fontana, CA. It is served by Omnitrans routes 10, 14, 15, 19, 20, 61, 66, 67, 82, Metrolink, and very recently Victor Valley Transit Authority route 15 (they usually run a mix of Orion V's & NABI's, with cutaways thrown in as well). I wasn't able to get as many photos as I'd like due to the amount of people that were crowding in front of buses, but these will have to suffice, for now anyways. Please enjoy! Omnitrans 2011 New Flyer C40LFR #1236, operating on route 61 to Pomona. Omnitrans 2012 New Flyer XN40 #1264, operating on route 66 to Montclair. #1264 from the side. Omnitrans 2003 New Flyer C40LF #0171, operating on route 20 to Kaiser Hospital. (My original home route) Omnitrans 2011 New Flyer C40LFR #1242, operating on route 66, arriving from Montclair. My last X-Mas gift for you all. Enjoy your holidays!
Turbo19 Posted December 25, 2012 Author #3 Posted December 25, 2012 Thanks again for the reply. I wonder if people aren't viewing my threads because they're hidden, or people think my photos suck. I thought people liked variety.
Quill Depot Posted December 25, 2012 #4 Posted December 25, 2012 Great! People don't look at threads much in the regional section. It's ironic that the C40LFR has an ad saying "THIS IS 40!"

compobus fan Posted December 26, 2012 #6 Posted December 26, 2012 Great shots, much different rear lights than our XD40's on the XN as well as the LFR !! How close are you to the NABI facility ? I saw some LACMTA folks there two weeks ago.

I saw some LACMTA folks there two weeks ago. Very close in fact. Just two miles up two residential roads. I haven't seen much there besides L.A. Metro Local/Rapids with a few Santa Monica vehicles. I missed the Gen III when it came by though. I'm waiting for the Metro 40C to swing by.

Once the 40C gets there it shoud be a matter of time till LACMTA places their order, they LOVE composites and the 40C will be a winner all around. I will be back up there in February @ ONT, then over to the facility.
MarkD329 Posted December 26, 2012 #9 Posted December 26, 2012 Nice seeing transit from the Left Coast!

Only problem getting up there is the lack of transit to that area. By the way, do you work for NABI or any of its affiliates? Just wondering. Nice seeing transit from the Left Coast! Thanks, I appericiate it!

No I am retired from the NTSB, and currently am under contract to DHS to do some airport auditing. I have a personal interest in the 45C having driven one in Phoenix while my son was in college there, after I gave up trying to make Government efficient !!

XcelsiorBoii4888 Posted December 28, 2012 #13 Posted December 28, 2012 Great photos!! The XN40 and C40LFR look beautiful! The XN40 has a one piece window which makes it look more open to passengers! I like the paint scheme on the C40LFR and C40LF! Keep them up!
