Default avatars

A comment and a question:

 

I don't like how every user without an avatar has been given a default one. It gives the impression upon a quick glance on the homepage that the same user posted all the posts.

 

I can't seem to find the pick-an-avatar function with all the subway bullets, only the upload custom option. Has it been removed?

The avatar gallery has gone with the going of VBulliten. I don't notice much because I don't update mine. To get bullets, go to downloads and find them:
