Train Simulator 2013

Recommended Posts

With UP restoring 4014 into working order, I felt that playing around with her on a 7 hour excursion from San Bernardino to Barstow and back was appropriate. The hope is that one day, we will see excursions like this in real life. I know this video is long, so here is a time table of contents so that you can skip to the parts you wish to see:
0:00 - 48:00 - #4014 performs yard shunting and builds her 25 car excursion consist at San Bernardino Station.
48:00 - 2:38:00 - #4014 Fights her way up Cajon Pass via the South track (3.5% grades)making for some nice low speed chugging action before reaching the summit and coasting down to a quick rest at Victorville.
2:38:00 - 3:37:00 - After sitting at Victorville for a few minutes, #4014 departs and makes with due speed up to Barstow Station.
3:37:00 - 4:03:00 - #4014 uncouples from the majority of her excursion set (taking 8 cars with her) and proceeds to wye at Barstow.
4:03:00 - 4:36:00 - A pair UP EMD F7s already at Barstow run 5 cars around to the rear of the excursion before running back up to the front to assist #4014 on her way back down to San Bernardino.
4:36:00 - 5:24:00 - #4014 and her F7 helpers lead the now 30 car excursion back down to another short layover at Victorville.
5:24:00 - 6:30:00 - #4014 takes the excursion back through Cajon pass on the North track this time and down to San Bernardino Station. Running speed in this segment maxes out around 90 mph.
6:30:00 - 6:54:00 - #4014 uncouples from the excursion set and allows the F7s to shunt the set back onto the station platforms before they come to a rest on the outer track.
6:54:00 - 7:01:00 - #4014 backs herself up to her original position at the start of the day where she will rest and pose for photos after a long day of work.
