Kamen Rider Posted January 2, 2013 #2 Posted January 2, 2013 The MTA has already hired a guy for B/O who was convicted for a bank robbery spree.... 0 Quote
CDTA Posted January 2, 2013 #3 Posted January 2, 2013 But that doesn't involve driving, now does it?... 0 Quote
Snowblock Posted January 2, 2013 #5 Posted January 2, 2013 Yes, you're wasting your time. Put down the beer and find yourself another career in a non safety-sensitive title. 0 Quote
Locomotion69 Posted January 3, 2013 #6 Posted January 3, 2013 I didn't want to start a new thread, but would somebody who has mild autism be hired to work as a B/O? Obviously I know you have to be able to communicate and also understand what is being said to you. What about mild cerebral palsy or neuromuscular disorders? 0 Quote
Olegkha Posted January 3, 2013 #7 Posted January 3, 2013 Dont wory about it, by the time the list will be certified, you wil be at least 3-4 years after your DUI, plus you will be able to get off the list and add your name back 3 times, to make the wait a bit longer, so you sould be ok. just dont screw up from now on...... 0 Quote
Olegkha Posted January 3, 2013 #8 Posted January 3, 2013 Wait a second, what Exam are you talking about ???? BOSS ? wait untill you are called for first interview, Dont go, they will kick you off the list, wait a bit and add your name back. Go to Livingston and ask them straight up if this is the date of the conviction, when will be ok to reaply. What ever you do, DONT HIDE IT, they will find out and kill you 0 Quote
tony300zxtt Posted January 4, 2013 Author #9 Posted January 4, 2013 the exam i am talking about is 2613 BO... 0 Quote
latinod Posted January 10, 2013 #10 Posted January 10, 2013 You'll need a minimum 5 years from the date of your conviction to possibly be considered for appointment. The job is safety sensitive as mentioned by snowblock. But since u filed already go for it and see what they tell you. The mta has a reputation for hiring people with serious issues in their background and rejecting those fully qualified with perfect backgrounds. 0 Quote
Olegkha Posted January 11, 2013 #11 Posted January 11, 2013 You probably be good 8/10 is dwi test 2013 they will probably establish list at the end of 2013 ( lets say 8/13) list is good for 4 years ( if i am not mistaking ) So if they call you in 2013 or 2014 just take your name off the list, and put it back in July of 2015 0 Quote
BeRight Posted December 22, 2016 #12 Posted December 22, 2016 How did it turn out? I have read that the MTA "can" reject the application for bus driver for dwi within 5 years. "Can" is not absolute. Does rehabilitation factor in? Is it an absolute definite denial or can it be mitigated prior to 5 year period? Lastly, is the date of offense or date of conviction the starting point of counting time elapsed? 0 Quote
