Passengers unhurt as train derails near Croydon Station

A TRAIN has derailed near Croydon Station, suspending the Lilydale line, this afternoon.

 

The incident happened about 5.30pm near the Dorset Rd crossing.

No one has been injured and all 24 passengers are safely off the train, Metro Trains tweeted.

The train involved was Hitachi 284M-1975T-283M - 291M-1982T-292M.

A British Rail Class 395 / Hitachi A-Train?

 

No. A 1972 Silver train. The oldest trains on Melbourne's rail system. One of seven remaining.
