Ive been tryin to figure this out for a while since its been goin on...This weekend G.O in particular..

1. Between Flatbush Av and E 180 St, and via the 5.gif to/from Dyre Av

2. Between E 180 St and 241 St

Weekends, 3:45 AM Sat to 10 PM Sun, until Jan 20

• Transfer between trains at E 180 St to continue your trip.

Note: 2.gif trains replace the 5.gif between Dyre Av and E 180 St during this time.

I could understnad if the Shuttle potion was running on increased headways like evry 30 Minutes to permit construction But Whats Goin On here Exactly?

They ARE on increased headways for the 180-241 portion. There is panel replacement being done on the WPR line, and the track gangs need more flexibility with opening and closing the line, so many of these runs are getting held until the track can be released to let the shuttle go through, and running a shuttle rather than full service prevents delays further down the line.

Subway Time thinks they're 5s because ATS thinks they're 5s. Both of them are wrong. It happens sometimes when the terminals get swapped. During one of the 7th Avenue FASTRACKs, the CIS saw all 2 trains running from Dyre to Penn Station as 5s. They were announced and displayed as such in stations.

It is not called the (5). If you look on the website, officially the (5) is not running each and every weekend until January 20th. In lieu, they are calling it the (2) shuttle.

They're doing it that way to avoid confusion. Besides, when the (2) I was on arrived on E 180 St going to Dyre, most WPR riders transferred across the platform to the other (2) going to 241 St.
