trainfan22 Posted January 10, 2013 Share #26 Posted January 10, 2013 Damn, I don't think there were this many railfans where the R62's were temporary on the after Sandy..... Because they they was only running between New Lots and Borough Hall and on the local track between Atlantic and Utica... you can ride a R62 on that trackage at any time. When the full route was restored there was still some 62's on the line but it wasn't "promoted" as much as this R62A train is.
PATCOman Posted January 10, 2013 Share #27 Posted January 10, 2013 I'm glad they don't do that when the D goes over the N or vice versa!
ttcsubwayfan Posted January 10, 2013 Share #28 Posted January 10, 2013 It was terrible. And god, the SMELL. Some of them weren't even wearing SHOES. They all were at Flatbush waiting for the very first trip and I could feel the wiff of 25 foamers jizzing their pants at the same time when I said "Manhattan bound train, next stop Newkirk" over the PA, but then they spread out like rats and were at every single station on the Nostrand line. And the saddest thing of all is that they kept coming back ALL WEEK. It's just a fscking train, get a life !!!! Are you serious? I hate these people - the actions of a select few make us all look bad.

QM1to6Ave Posted January 11, 2013 Share #31 Posted January 11, 2013 LOL I guess some of us were actually working this week...what's the deal with this R62a? Is it 1 train set that is staying on the line for a while or what? I guess the next time I need to go to the Upper East Side for a meeting I'll keep an eye out for this. Grand Concourse Posted January 11, 2013 Share #32 Posted January 11, 2013 Probably the rfw. If it was 2 5 car sets with full cabs on both ends, probably wouldn't be as many ppl. Then again given the age of some of them, they probably never saw an r62a on the 6.

This post makes no sense. How the hell can merely riding a train be overkill? Not everyone has homework every day, for one thing... If you want an example of overkill, take a look at Snowblock's post. I can understand getting up early in the morning (but come on... try to at least look presentable) for the final run of so and so train but it seems extreme to do that for a service change which would continue through the week. MTARegional Bus Posted January 13, 2013 Share #36 Posted January 13, 2013 How many R62 still have the railfan window?
youngblaze Posted January 13, 2013 Share #37 Posted January 13, 2013 How many R62 still have the railfan window? Only the R62A sets that are currently on the . Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the sets with the half width cabs are singles. It is unknown if Westchester will convert the cabs to full width or not.
