All Orion 7 Third Gens at Castleton

Recommended Posts

This weekend marks the end of the BTE transfers...all Novas are in Queens, all XD40s are in Brooklyn (split between ENY and Ulmer Park), and all Orion 7s at Castleton.

Now if they could just rid themselves of those Orion 5s....  :D

If you mean the diesels, I'm fine with that. If you mean the CNGs, then up yours...

Up his either way....

Brooklyn is just missing 4899

Why is it taking them so long to deliver that damn bus. Even Designline was better about this!

This still sucks because I never got to ride a 3G on the new Q36 like I wanted. And from what I see everyday, the LFSes don't hold up the loads on the Q27 everyday.

What's the logic between splitting up the bus distribution like that? I'm guessing they want each depot to only have to worry about 1 of the 3 types, but I don't like that QV is stuck with all the Nova's. When they are on the Q46 everybody groans because the bus is packed and you can feel it jerk and struggle to get up to speed when it is so full.

imo, they should've done the moves sooner, but finally it's complete. I do feel bad for Queens that they got stuck with the Novas. Are these the MTA's or can they still be given back to Nova? Either way i hope the only new novas that comes are only the artics.

Well, there ends the long awaited diversity I've always wanted on the island...LOVED riding the Novas out there as well. Those Orion VIIs are quite the good buses. It'll be fun riding those out there more often.

IMO the Nova's should have went to the island and the 3G's to Queens.

I see it more as putting all the orions in SI and keeping it simple for them. I think that was to be expected. I honestly thought the novas were going to stay in Brooklyn and the Xds going to Queens.

It honestly wouldn't have mattered to me, either the XDs or the 3Gs stay in Queens, just not the Novas.

I don't like the Nova because if they come back to back and a stop has a lot of people you have to wait for another bus especially if it has bad headways. I don't like the fact that they put them on any line especially ones that need artics. I'm not saying that they are bad but I think Staten Island could of taken them in return for the Orion VII 3G's which are bigger and hold crowds well. Who knows if the XD40 wins it going to almost every depot that has 1996-1998 buses so QV won't be suffering for much long.

Let's get something straight, all buses are the same damn size. The only difference between the three aside from their appearance are the interiors.

It's not just about where they would stay, its also about parts and maintenance. The Novas can get parts from the LFSAs at CS, the Orions can get parts from the NGs out at S.I.

Why are you getting mad? I'm allowed to have my own opinion and I just don't think the Novabuses can handle Queens routes. No need to get all hyped over my opinion.
