B35 via Church Posted February 2, 2014 Share #526 Posted February 2, 2014 I never understood why people would be willing to risk their lives on those damn things to save a few bucks. I'd rather pay the $2.35, $2.90, or $3.50 than ride one of those tin cans....... For starters, because they don't see it as a risk..... They see it as viable transportation (just like we do, the NJT buses).... My issue with the jitney is they can be some as hell. When I was fanning the 190, it wasn't uncommon for my bus to pass one of two jitneys along Main St. What?
Q101 E Midtown Posted February 3, 2014 Share #527 Posted February 3, 2014 What? Sorry, that was meant to be read as "slow as hell."
Cait Sith Posted February 3, 2014 Share #528 Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) Well, word is that the rest of the NABIs will be coming in very shortly in a matter of days. The rest of the RTSs will be kaput very soon. They had them running on the Harmon Meadow/Meadowlands Shuttle. Get your shots while you can. I managed to get 2552 on Roach USA(that was not a typo) 24A today. Edited February 3, 2014 by Cait Sith

Still need up to 6538 anyway to finish the order.

They were all on hold, originally, the NABIs that were sitting at the Meadowlands lot were supposed to be used for the Super Bowl Shuttle (in conjunction with some of the RTSs and some MCIs), but all of that changed.

So thats what happened to them. Ok so coach usa should be getting their Nabi's soon. I guess Broadway got all of theirs if not they are only a few short.
DaTransitMan4608 Posted February 5, 2014 Share #532 Posted February 5, 2014 Anyone know when the pilot MCI CNG D4500CT is gonna come in? I'm curious to see how NJT spec'd it (yeah we all know they did...).

FlashThunder Posted February 19, 2014 Share #534 Posted February 19, 2014 Just saw an advertisement from NJT on my way home tonight, highlighting the results from recent customer satisfaction survey. It says 8 out of 10 people recommend NJT to others, where highlights include - stable fares (don't have much to say about this) - direct communication (not really) - on time performance (... seriously?) - availability of seats on bus (.... Really, seriously?) I wonder if NJT is really desperate to get some good public image... Because I can testify that those points are highly BS

Because I can testify that those points are highly BS Seats based on 700& 600 buses and frequency of 100 series. On time performance anything other than NEC and 800&600 series buses plus south Jersey communication via mybus now seems legitimate.

DaTransitMan4608 Posted February 22, 2014 Share #538 Posted February 22, 2014 Few things. I didn't know academy did direct service to Old Bridge Park & Ride. For a second I thought 8622 was at Howell. After riding the M34A, I think the Nova LFSA would be a good replacement for the Neos.
DaTransitMan4608 Posted February 22, 2014 Share #539 Posted February 22, 2014 Can a mod merge this with my other post? The app is acting up. It's confirmed. 8622 is at Howell. I saw it boarding passengers at the 320 gates, and I know Academy doesn't run to Route 9 from PABT.

They already do much of the 136 in the PM rush.
DaTransitMan4608 Posted February 22, 2014 Share #541 Posted February 22, 2014 (edited) Just to Old Bridge Park & Ride? Because that's apparently the only place it was going... Edited February 22, 2014 by Transitkid4608
Orion VII 4 Life Posted February 28, 2014 Author Share #542 Posted February 28, 2014 1538 is being used on the EWR Express.
Silk City Transit Posted February 28, 2014 Share #543 Posted February 28, 2014 how the heck do MCIs end up on the 126 if the route is exact fare? I see 7133 on MyBusNow on the 126 line MCI trips on the 126 are full service.
Orion VII 4 Life Posted February 28, 2014 Author Share #544 Posted February 28, 2014 1538 (might have mistaken that one for 1583 when I was on the 139) 31104 and 11521 are also out on the EWR Express. Instead of a luggage rack they're folding up the wheelchair seats and throwing the bags on the ground lol

DaTransitMan4608 Posted March 1, 2014 Share #546 Posted March 1, 2014 Finally saw 2 of the Coach USA NABIs. One of them was 6534, but I didn't catch the other ones number since it was going too fast. I gotta say they look pretty good without the dark blue underneath the paint.
Orion VII 4 Life Posted March 1, 2014 Author Share #547 Posted March 1, 2014 I thought Academy ran the wall street rte 9 service?Yeah, but some rush hour 13x runs are contracted out to Academy. Mostly 139 in the AM and 136 in the PM.

Unless they added on to it.
GojiMet86 Posted March 1, 2014 Share #549 Posted March 1, 2014 Why does the MTA use only 45-foot coaches, but NJT 40 and 45-foot coaches?
qjtransitmaster Posted March 1, 2014 Share #550 Posted March 1, 2014 Why does the MTA use only 45-foot coaches, but NJT 40 and 45-foot coaches? MTA doesn't think some offpeak express NON SI routes only need 40 ft buses. Some routes do not need 45 ft buses on any run.
