At least its better then SEPTA's Broad Street Line "AT&T Station" name (formally Pattison)...

But I do agree, thats a bit too much... Can they even rename a station without MTA approval? I'm reading nothing on that.

Imagine how it sounds when you say only the last name with subway station at the end.

Weird......

Another pointless, insubstantial initiative by absolutely useless local politicians.  What's next, the Eduard Khil Memorial Terminal?

IMO, if they renamed the street after him then it would be acceptable, for obvious reasons, but otherwise I don't really think it would work.

Enough with teh stupid renaming of everything, removing the street or neighborhood names from the stations is just going to make things very confusing for everyone.

Why is it ok to name an airport, street, bridge, tunnel, etc, after someone but not a subway station. First of all, This was a man who helped change NYC in a good, way. Second, this is a city known for its subways. I call it an honor. Didnt i see posts here crediting him for winning the war on subway graffiti. Wouldnt this be fitting?

For the record, hes not the first to have multiple things named after them. But i do believe he's the first to have a subway station named after him.

Guest MTA Bus

I'm not saying Ed Koch was a bad guy, but why are they naming a station after him when he already has the 59th St Bridge ?

Great, a bridge and a subway station for Ed Koch. Lets see what Giuliani and Bloomberg get when they move on...
