jgood6195 Posted February 6, 2013 Share #26 Posted February 6, 2013 Interesting. Very cool. I bet the school is Commercial Driver Training, I see (or used to see) their trucks and buses all over 110. It's good to see a company giving some of their students experience on a 40' transit bus. I was hoping a Suffolk Transit operator purchesed these buses as a spare (yes I know the buses are owned by Suffolk County). Do you know if it was a diesel or CNG bus? It's a CNG. C40LF or CNG 40 foot Low Floor bus.
User Posted February 7, 2013 Share #27 Posted February 7, 2013 Interesting that they decided to buy the C40LFs and use them on Long Island because its just easier to find diesel fueling stations than CNG.
Baseball02 Posted February 9, 2013 Share #28 Posted February 9, 2013 Hmm.. looks like someone finally bid on it. It's at $225 now.
GojiMet86 Posted February 9, 2013 Share #29 Posted February 9, 2013 Hmm.. looks like someone finally bid on it. It's at $225 now. My math textbook cost $190. A bus, or a textbook? Hmm...
Burrstone Posted February 9, 2013 Author Share #30 Posted February 9, 2013 Hmm.. looks like someone finally bid on it. It's at $225 now. The bid when I posted this on Tuesday was over a thousand with an auction date being the next day. The bid must not have reached the reserve price as it (obviously) didn't sell and it now has an auction day of 3/11.
User Posted February 9, 2013 Share #31 Posted February 9, 2013 I can't even believe they set a reserve price, if thats the case. They probably won't reach it because of the age and condition of the bus. Look at NICE's Orion V CNG auctions, they sold for about $2000 a piece.
