Schedules Change Sunday for Regional Rail Routes

PHILADELPHIA, PA — SEPTA regional rail routes will operate with new schedules beginning Sunday, August 12. The new schedules include the continuation of hourly weekday R5 (Paoli/Thorndale & Lansdale/Doylestown) service during the midday due to separate construction projects on both segments of the line.

The new schedules are currently available on this site. Passengers will also be able to pick up new timetables at Market-East, Suburban and 30th Street Stations and SEPTA sales offices.

Highlights of the upcoming changes include:

  • Paoli/Thorndale & Lansdale/Doylestown (R5) – inbound and outbound off peak train service will continue to operate hourly on weekdays through the end of November due to construction. Passengers should review the new schedules and plan accordingly as there will also be weekend service adjustments. Passengers will also find informational posters at impacted stations along the R5 Line during the construction period.

  • Airport (R1) – the R1 Airport train now scheduled to leave Terminal E at 4:09 p.m. will be altered to start from University City Station at 4:29 p.m. instead. This train will then leave 30th Street Station at 4:33 p.m. and operate as an outbound R8 train to Fox Chase.

  • Norristown (R6) –the outbound R6 Norristown train currently scheduled to leave University City Station at 4:27 p.m. will be changed to accommodate heavy ridership and improve on time performance. The train will now start from 30th Street Station instead at 4:30 p.m.

All regional rail passengers should pick up new schedules and check for changes to their specific trains. Some trains have been renumbered and retimed on these routes. Passengers may telephone the SEPTA Service Department at 215-580-7800 for all service information or access this site.
