7LineFan Posted June 7, 2013 Share #226 Posted June 7, 2013 Hold on... A player gets fined if he gets thrown out of a game that already ended..... That's news to me.... It's discretionary, as all fines are, but I'd imagine he would for coming back at Randazzo a second time. Plus MLB is very fine-happy from what I've heard. alejr88 Posted June 7, 2013 Author Share #227 Posted June 7, 2013 Wow long time without posting here, OK here I go: As for the Subway Series, B35 nailed it. The Subway Series don't mean jack for the players. I only saw the Kuroda/Harvey game which was a great game despite Mariano blowing the game. Yankees went 1-6 that week against the Mets and Red Sux. Ken Griffey Jr. said it best, if CC Sabathia starts sweating on the mound, he's going to be unhittable. I don't know the quote but he did say something like that or similar to it. Boy pathetic are the Mets, they sweep the Yankees and then they go to Miami and get swept by a team worse than the Houston Astros. The Miami Marlins only swept 2 series, both of them happened against the Mets and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again this weekend. So Ben Francisco finally got released, finally because the dude really sucked. As for Biogenesis and all that crap, if suspensions are being handed out, the MLBPA union is going to have a field day with this. So MLB is using Anthony Bosch to rat out ballplayers just so he don't get sued? Personally, I don't care if Alex, Braun, or Melky did PED's. Who gives a ****? MLB is making this a big deal while in the NFL is more like "meh, big deal". The NFL do give suspensions just like MLB. Whoever fails just punish them. I'll admit that I am an A-Rod apologist but I feel the same way with anybody who take steroids. If you fail a drug test, you should get suspended. Last I checked, Alex, Nelson Cruz, Cervelli and some others haven't failed a drug test yet and they're going to get suspended based on what somebody says? There needs to be more evidence than that if you're going to suspend a player. Melky & Bartolo have failed tests and already served suspensions (last year). By the way good thing Teixeira came back, that means more Overbay in RF against RHP. /sarcasm JMO about steroids and all that crap...I don't care who's using what, it's their body that they are damaging not yours and they can do w/e they want with it. Grand Concourse Posted June 9, 2013 Share #230 Posted June 9, 2013 And Wang decides to bail from his minor league stint to go with the Blue jays. So much for that back up plan*. *I dunno what he has left, but wouldn't he be better than Nova right now if they needed to call someone up? Grand Concourse Posted June 9, 2013 Share #232 Posted June 9, 2013 Did I hear this right, the mets lost in extra innings again to the lowly Marlins? SmH, I take back my comments about the Angels and Astros. As if the 20inning one yesterday wasn't bad enough... Looks like the rainout was a mercy thing because that would've been another automatic loss. Marlins: "screwing over the Mets since 2007".

Grand Concourse Posted June 10, 2013 Share #236 Posted June 10, 2013 Davis probably got a reprieve from the Yankees series. If not for that he probably would've been sent down sooner.
B35 via Church Posted June 10, 2013 Share #237 Posted June 10, 2013 The Marlins are a whopping 18-44..... smh... almost half of their wins came from the mets alone..... The Yankees barely scraped by today, winning 2-1.... Davis probably got a reprieve from the Yankees series. If not for that he probably would've been sent down sooner. Fat boy (francesa) had an interview w/ Collins the wednesday after the subway series & professed as such.... That was a question francesa actually asked him about..... alejr88 Posted June 10, 2013 Author Share #238 Posted June 10, 2013 And the Marlins sweep the Mets again! I didn't know the Mets signed David Aardsma, Yanks released him after ST and signed with the Marlins who never called him up. Like B35 said, Yanks barely beat the Mariners 2-1 as they won 7 games out of their last 10 games played.
Guest Charles Posted June 10, 2013 Share #239 Posted June 10, 2013 yep came through on WABC Ike davis(what took em so long) dillon baxter(idk) and robert carson(got shelled in relief) Davis - since he had a similar 2 month slump last year and then picked up, I guess the Mets thought he'd do the same this year. Guess not. Such a shame, since he's shown so much potential. Baxter - Light hitting defensive replacement usually, he's hasn't done anything wrong, but if you're that kind of player you're fairly subject to being sent down at times. Carson - this post I read from a sports blog sums him up perfectly: "Has there been a time when Rob Carson hasn't given up a home run in a relief appearance?" >"Yeah, I think once he gave up two." Considering they were playing against 'king felix' any time they steal a game he pitches, that's always a good thing. Pity they can't get to him like Verlander. RTS CNG Command Posted June 12, 2013 Share #244 Posted June 12, 2013 The Diamondbacks-Dodgers game got REALLY nasty last night. In the bottom of the six, a 1-2 fastball from starting pitcher Ian Kennedy sailed and hit Yasiel Puig on the ear flap and bounced off his nose. He stayed in the game. In the top of the seventh, Zack Greinke's 2-1 fastball hit Arizona catcher Miguel Montero on the numbers. Both benches were warned and cleared, but nothing happened. But in the bottom of seventh, this happened.

Not the first time it's happened to Greinke; you're not trying to pitch inside anymore, you're clearly looking to instigate something. --- Yasiel Puig's (already) a great player, but the best aspect of him is his name. Literally can't go a day without hearing "Puiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig" screamed in a highlights reel. Grand Concourse Posted June 13, 2013 Share #247 Posted June 13, 2013 Yankees looking much smarter passing on him. I figured it was just because he couldn't hack it in a big market area, but I didn't think he'd be an instigator. smh.

B35 via Church Posted June 13, 2013 Share #249 Posted June 13, 2013 I still think a pitcher intentionally aiming (and hitting) someone in the head is criminal...... If a player charges the mound with a bat & starts taking swings at opposing players, that's criminal, but intentionally throwing a baseball at someone's head isn't?
