N4 Via Merrick Rd 234 #1 Posted March 2, 2013 The New York-based carrier unveiled its first A320 with sharklets — Airbus’ fuel saving wing tip devices — last week at John F. Kennedy International Airport. According to Airbus, the sharklets improve the plane’s aerodynamics with a fuel burn reduction of up to four percent, allowing increased range and payload capability."We feel the sharklets are a prudent investment in our fleet, our environment and our people that will maximize performance and efficiency, while minimizing our carbon footprint,” said Dave Barger, CEO of JetBlue.Delivery of the sharklets to JetBlue will begin in 2014.
