Gare du Nord serves the north of Paris metropolitan area, the north of France and the north of Europe A fire in an underground parking, 6 month ago in the west side of the station. Behind the station Surface suburban platforms Regional and intercity lines platforms. The Eurostar in the picture is not an Eurostar, it is a regular french TGV high speed service that use extra Eurostar stock. Thalys (high speed train to Belgium, Netherlands and Germany) Eurostar Eurostar platforms are segregrated from the rest of the station, because it is not in Schengen area (border free zone).
