realizm Posted March 9, 2013 Share #2 Posted March 9, 2013 I envy you. I had to go to work today. Both IT tech jobs. Lol. I will say that I'm glad I got through it. Big paycheck coming as a reward. It was all OT. Love the pics, really well executed pics on the beauty of nature.
peacemak3r Posted March 9, 2013 Share #3 Posted March 9, 2013 Nice pics, but wait until you get a job...there's usually a 90% chance of never hearing the words "snow day" ever again.

realizm Posted March 9, 2013 Share #5 Posted March 9, 2013 Incredible, it is still snowing in New York area!! Nice pics. Very luckily it finally stopped. Bright sunny skies right now and reasonably warm early summer temperatures. And I'm still here in this office with florescent lights blazing over my head, staring at two dual monitors at IT helpdesk on a Saturday until my eyes are glazing over. Woe is me. *sigh* Nice pics, but wait until you get a job...there's usually a 90% chance of never hearing the words "snow day" ever again. Snow day? What's that? CDTA Posted March 11, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted March 11, 2013 Thanks guys! Also, I grew up back in the city where we had to go to school during the transit strike/blizzard, so I'm used to not having snow days.

And now that I no longer have to shovel the last year has been tame compared to the blizzard we had previously... Have to admit that it was great that I couldn't come in because the buses were OOS... realizm Posted March 11, 2013 Share #9 Posted March 11, 2013 Unless I work for the state. Yeah working for the state or government has it's perks. Sometimes. If you can get in, excellent benefits depending on the city or government agency you work for. Private sector in the white collar world also has it's perks too if you can establish good working professional relationships with your co-workers supervisors and directors within. Easier said then done. However the competition is fierce within the workplace with plenty of office innuendos and backstabbing politics in the workplace. It exists in the government sector as well but there are rules to follow so there's a cap on what co workers and superbvisors can do to stir trouble. in the private sector anything goes basically. But many private sector companies do offer excellent benefits as well. You'll see once you are out of HS and college and ready to kick ass in the job market and on your way to your career path you worked so hard for to pave for yourself.
