Long Island City!

Recommended Posts

It's refreshing to see some good crystal clear LIRR shots. I really like this one below with the work locomotive with the hopper and flatbed cars attached along with that M7 in the background over a sunset after a crew's hard day's work. I'm getting a kick out of this collection of pics.

Get your sneakers on for more kicks! lol

Great pics! I've gotta say, I miss riding those M3s. You don't see them too often on the PW line!

Oh, they don't come that way too much?

Really great ones!

Thanks!

Excellent shots!

Thank you!

Nice pics.

I didn't know that LIRR has double deckers cars.

Yes, we have a nice amount of Tri-Level Cars which are referred to as the C-3s. They are pulled by our GM DE30AC Diesel and/or the GM DM30AC Dual Mode Diesel-Electric Locomotives. These non-3rd Rail Coaches serve the Diesel Territory of the Long Island Rail Road:

-Babylon to Montauk

-Huntington to Port Jefferson

-Ronkonkoma to Greenport

-Mineola to Oyster Bay

-Long Island City to Jamaica (Via Lower Montauk)

Check them out sometime. Very cool equipment.

Great Pics!

Thanks!
