superdrive1 Posted July 19, 2013 Author Share #26 Posted July 19, 2013 Time for another update, thankfully for me not as large as previous ones, nothing unusual this time, well I say that, I've found a new filming location that I've been testing out and a special train with Pullman coaches made an appearance and it deservedly takes pride of place at the top of this post! Please enjoy what I have to offer, I will be extremely busy over the weekend catching all the engineering trains heading to and from London, testing out new sighting locations, one of which is in a field with a herd of cows, wish me luck...
Minato ku Posted July 19, 2013 Share #27 Posted July 19, 2013 How succesful is the Javelin high speed train? It is in service since more than a year by now and I had little information about his service. PS: Could you avoid to post too much videos by message. Pages then become very heavy and difficult to load. Wrote several messages if you have many videos to show us.
superdrive1 Posted July 20, 2013 Author Share #28 Posted July 20, 2013 I can't speak too much for the Javelin service as I don't use it often, though all times I've been on it it seems to have been rather busy! Yes I have noticed that, I've got an idea to cut down on what I post and such like, will apply it from next post onwards. Hopefully that will solve page loading issues
superdrive1 Posted July 20, 2013 Author Share #29 Posted July 20, 2013 As a taste of things to come, ALL posts will now be laid out in the following style in order to reduce page loading issues. Links to my Youtube video and Flickr photo channels will be posted at the top of each new post, underneath will then be a list of what new items have been added to each and then ONE video and ONE photo only per post will be provided as a taster of what has been added. To view the full selection, you will now be required to visit my pages. This is to reduce the strain on the forums with all my videos and images and also to reduce loading times on these pages. The first update to follow this procedure will be provided some time this weekend. Thanks go to 'Minato ku' for providing this feedback to ensure that I can showcase the best of what I have without causing further webpage issues. Thanks once again to all who take the time to view my items, and hopefully with these updates your viewing pleasure of this topic will now no longer become such a strain and it will become as easy as !
superdrive1 Posted July 20, 2013 Author Share #30 Posted July 20, 2013 First post under the new system, all further posts will be in this style. http://www.flickr.com/photos/stanstedtransportphotos/http://www.youtube.com/user/welovechannel4 New updates: GBRF Class 66 diesel locomotive 66704 'Colchester Power Signal Box' passing on a Whitemoor Yard to Blackhorse Road engineering working, hauling loaded ballast wagons Selected image and video: As it's only a single update, this time we have an image and video of 66704, when more than one update is posted then an image of one train and video of another will be posted instead.
superdrive1 Posted July 22, 2013 Author Share #31 Posted July 22, 2013 New updates have now been posted, I will now not be doing filming or photos on my local station until kids go back to school in early September just so I avoid any hassle from them of which I have recently experienced, so the 2 videos I have most recently recorded at the station will become the last (for now at least). I will however be taking the opportunity of my self-imposed 6 week ban from filming at the station to explore other locations in and around where I live in an attempt to try and find somewhere to better it. Today was the start of that process! http://www.flickr.co...ransportphotos/http://www.youtube.c.../welovechannel4 New updates: First GBRF Class 66 diesel locomotives 66739 and 66743 are seen working 2 separate Blackhorse Road (London) to Whitemoor Yard engineering trains following the completion of weekend works. Also from today (Monday) I test out the first of my new filming locations on top of a road bridge as we see DB Schenker Class 66 66156 running past on the twice-weekly 6M29 empty stone working Selected image and video: Today's image and video is in essence showing the last of the old and the start of the new. The image shows 66739 blasting through the station whilst the video shows my new filming home for the summer with 66156 performing the honors.
superdrive1 Posted August 4, 2013 Author Share #32 Posted August 4, 2013 Haven't updated this place in a little while, just needed a bit of a break from trains, but I'm back and ready to go again... http://www.flickr.co...ransportphotos/http://www.youtube.c.../welovechannel4 New updates: Various Class 66s on multiple engineering workings, mainly going to/from the Gospel Oak - Barking line Usual selection of Class 317 and Class 379 EMUs on West Anglia passenger workings Eurostars and Class 395 Javelin units seen from an over-bridge at Rainham (Essex) Class 59 59103 on a Purley - Acton stone working, Class 92 92019 on a Dollands Moor - Scunthorpe run and Class 33 33207 on a Southall - Bristol ECS tour run all at Kensington Olympia (London) Class 66 66701 seen on the over-bridge at Willesden Junction working a Northfleet - Westbourne Park freight service Featured image and video: It was hard to pick out some things to put up for special attention this time as there really are some standout items, but here are my 2. The images shows 3 trains in one shot at Kensington Olympia station, London Overground Class 378 EMUs flanking either side of West Coast Railway Company Class 33 diesel locomotive which was hauling empty coaches from Southall to Bristol. The video also at Kenny O' (as it's nicknamed) sees a Class 92 electric locomotive passing through the station on a working from Dollands Moor (close-ish to the UK portal of the Channel Tunnel I believe) to Scunthorpe sidings
superdrive1 Posted August 14, 2013 Author Share #33 Posted August 14, 2013 Well as the summer hits it's peak here and is slowly starting to die down on the approach to autumn/fall so do the trains, the weekend just gone has seen the last sizable running of engineering trains. They'll still be the odd ones running but they're now more or less finished up for the summer. However come this Saturday I'm off for the 2nd day trip of the year to Birmingham, depending on the volume of what I get that might get a separate topic thread from this one but we'll see how that one goes. In the meantime here is what the last 10 days or so saw coming my way. http://www.flickr.co...ransportphotos/http://www.youtube.c.../welovechannel4 New updates: Various Class 66 locomotives on freight and engineering workings (66s seen in random order, 66011, 66723, 66725, 66726, 66553, 66522, 66626, 66742, 66744, 66745, 66703, 66723, 66105, 66730, 66714 and 66151) Also a couple of Class 379 EMUs going about daily passenger workings Featured image and video: The featured imagine this time I guess you could say does kind-of show that the engineering train run is drawing to it's close, as we see Freightliner Class 66 locomotive 66623 on the rear of a Whitemoor Yard bound engineers train being pulled around the corner as Class 379 EMU 379023 makes a sudden appearance going the other way! The video this time shows 66011 heading back home on the Harlow Mill - Mountsorrel empty wagons train
superdrive1 Posted August 19, 2013 Author Share #34 Posted August 19, 2013 Special update this time (may even get a larger thread dedicated to it given there's so much to show!), the Saturday just gone saw me once again make tracks in the direction of the city of Birmingham to see some different trains and it was glorious! The weather wasn't but then in the UK it never is so that was no surprise! So here's what's about to see this time... http://www.flickr.co...ransportphotos/http://www.youtube.c.../welovechannel4 New updates: Images and videos from a 2hr 30min stint at Stafford station including multiple sightings of Class 220 'Voyager' and Class 221 'Super Voyager' DMUs, Class 350 'Electrostar' and Class 390 'Pendolino' EMUs, also a few images and videos from a brief 20 minute stint at Stechford station (near to Birmingham International Airport) featuring trains listed above and additionally a Class 323 EMU Featured image and video: Hard to choose to be honest (hence why another thread may be opened up for it) but in the image a Class 390 'Pendolino' EMU operated by Virgin Trains (yes the same company behind Virgin Airlines etc) is seen departing from Stafford station whilst working the 1F16 12:07 London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street service. The featured video shows another Pendolino, in this case 390127 carrying special "Fly Virgin Trains" logos as part of their latest promotional campaign is seen slowing and stopping on the through roads at Stafford for a signal check, before moving on again to continue working it's 1H68 13:40 London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly service
superdrive1 Posted August 31, 2013 Author Share #35 Posted August 31, 2013 Another update as the railway action definitely starts to show signs of winding down for the remainder of the year, still there's a few bits to show! http://www.flickr.com/photos/stanstedtransportphotos/ http://www.youtube.com/user/welovechannel4 New updates: 66077 sighted twice on separate days and 66717 sighted once working the twice-weekly 6M29 15:15 Harlow Mill Recp. to Mountsorrel Sdgs return freight service 66715 carrying possibly the longest nameplate on a train in this country "Valour - In Memory Of All Railway Employees Who Gave Their Lives For Their Country" seen working 6T71 13:30 Whitemoor Yard L.D.C Gbrf to Cheshunt engineering train 66546, 66598 and 66514 working 6Y68, 6Y73 and 6L37 headcode engineering trains respectively 379026 and 379018 working one of many Stansted Express services Featured image and video: Since last time and given there's only 3-4 days of the school summer holiday left, I've made a judgement it's safe to return to the stations for trainspotting duties. So here's the first 2 trains sighted back at 'home'. Image of 66715 and video of 66077
superdrive1 Posted September 7, 2013 Author Share #36 Posted September 7, 2013 Updates from this week, note not much of the Tube stuff will be included in here, it will be given it's own separate topic on here due to it's special nature. So updates from this week include... New Updates: London Underground S7 Stocks on the Circle Line and District Line in passenger service at Barbican, Tower Hill, West Ham, Olympia and Gloucester Road, plus onboard videos (further info etc on this will be posted in separate thread) London Underground C69/C77 and D78 Stock trains at West Ham Various South West Trains DMUs and EMUs sighted at Queenstown Road (Battersea) Featured image and video: The featured image this time is seen showing a Class 159 Diesel Multiple Unit 159014 heading towards it's terminal London Waterloo passing Queenstown Road (Battersea) station, the video is more a taster for the Underground post I will put up, showing a C69/C77 unit departing from West Ham station heading for Hammersmith via Kings Cross, if you want the full picture of what this Tube stuff is about keep watch on the forum...
superdrive1 Posted September 15, 2013 Author Share #37 Posted September 15, 2013 Usual bits and pieces from the last week, not a great deal to show off now as autumn/fall starts closing in, but I remain hopeful of a reasonable supply of trains to keep rolling on through the darker months... New Updates: This week's quota of Class 66s includes 66704 'Colchester Power Signal Box', 66717 'Good Old Boy', 66140, 66221 and 66598, also seen are Class 317 EMUs 317505 and 317670 and Class 379 EMU 379007 Featured image and video: This week's image sees Class 66 diesel loco 66704 with it's 'Colchester Power Signal Box' nameplate just visible on the side passing through working a return Billericay - Whitemoor Yard engineering train, the video sees another returning engineering train from Billericay, 66717 with it's nameplate 'Good Old Boy' slowly passing through the station before giving me a blast of the horn that could have quite comfortably sent me to the top of a nearby tree!
superdrive1 Posted September 26, 2013 Author Share #38 Posted September 26, 2013 http://www.flickr.co...ransportphotos/ http://www.youtube.c.../welovechannel4 Few bits and pieces from the week and a half, autumn is approaching, which means it's leaf-fall season, hopeful within the week here they should start running the track cleaning trains but given the way this network runs who knows, anyway... New Updates: List of 66s seen this time around (in any random order) includes: 66060, 66711, 66741, 66524, 66546, 66719 'Metro-Land', 66723 'Chinnook', 66739 'Bluebell Railway' and 66740, we also see Class 37s 37402 and 37648 top-and-tailing a Network Rail test train on an East Ham circular run and 317890 makes an appearance as well! Featured image and video: The image this time around shows diesel locomotive 37682 passing through on the rear of 1Q72 East Ham circular test train, the video shows it passing through, turn sound up for maximum effect!
superdrive1 Posted October 9, 2013 Author Share #39 Posted October 9, 2013 http://www.flickr.co...ransportphotos/ http://www.youtube.c.../welovechannel4 Odd bits from the last week or so, Railhead Treatment Trains (known as RHTTs) used for cleaning the track of crushed leaves etc have run for the first time today, however I wasn't out to witness it as I am stuck in bed with a cold! But here's what I saw before I got plagued by germs! New Updates: Class 66 updates (as usual in any random order!) include 66539, 66713 'Forest City', 66519, 66746, 66733, 66047, 66058, 66719 'Metro-Land' and 66171. Also seen are Class 379 EMUs 379005, 379012, 379015, 379025, 379027 and 379028, as a bonus we see Network Rail Multi-Purpose Vehicle DR98008 passing through on a stock transfer movement Featured image and video: Image today showcasing the MPV DR98008 on it's Rugby-Romford stock move, video shows 66171 crawling through Stansted Mountfitchet hauling the empty wagons back to Mountsorrel on the twice-weekly 6M29 service.
superdrive1 Posted October 20, 2013 Author Share #40 Posted October 20, 2013 (edited) http://www.flickr.co...ransportphotos/ http://www.youtube.c.../welovechannel4 Usual bits and pieces with a few different items as we're now only 8 weeks away from Christmas... New Updates: Updates this week include 66151, 66171, 66708 'Jayne' and 66712' Peterborough Power Signal Box' running freight and engineering workings. Also seen are MPV DR98008 running back home to Rugby, 47805 and 47810 on a Northern Belle railtour working diverted via West Anglia due to the Camden Road derailment and the start of Class 57 operated Railhead Treatment Train workings with 57301, 305 and 312 all sighted so far. Class 57s are exceptionally rare on this section of track, and are believed to only be running on this line until the end of November. (Or whenever the leaves stop falling!) Featured image and video: Image this week shows one of the RHTT working with 57301 (and coupler cover) running through with 57305 tagging along on the rear. The video shows only the 2nd railtour to use this line this year, a Northern Belle/Pullman working being hauled by the somewhat less glamorous locomotive of 47805 and 47810! superdrive1 Posted November 3, 2013 Author Share #41 Posted November 3, 2013 http://www.flickr.co...ransportphotos/ http://www.youtube.c.../welovechannel4 So here we are again, what's on offer this time... New Updates: Various Class 57s working Railhead Cleaning Train duties, these have now left the area due to complaints from residents over the noise of the locomotives. Typical British moaning right there! Class 317 and 379 EMUs are also sighted along with Class 66 diesels and Class 37 37605 hauling a Class 90 electric locomotive and 2 coaches away for overhaul. Items from my recent trip to Acton LTM Depot can be found in a further thread on the World Transit Systems forum. Featured image and video: The image this time around shows Class 37 diesel locomotive 37605 hauling a unidentified Class 90 electric locomotive and 2 Mark II type coaches being hauling through Stansted Mountfitchet on their way to Wolverton Traction Maintenance Depot to have work undertaken on them. The 'video' is new ground for me, as it's actually a sound recording. The recordings were taken from 2 separate 1992 type Tube stock trains running on the Central Line of the London Underground announcing the trains as terminating at Liverpool Street and Bethnal Green due to planned engineering work. Please excuse the sound quality of the clip as it was recorded on my phone, which isn't designed to record anything very well! However due to the unique rareness of the announcements I figured it was worth recording them.
superdrive1 Posted November 17, 2013 Author Share #42 Posted November 17, 2013 http://www.flickr.co...ransportphotos/ http://www.youtube.c.../welovechannel4 The weather seems to be taking a turn for the worst and Christmas songs are being played on the music channel, in the middle of November. Must be wintertime! New Updates: Bar Class 37 locomotives 37601 and 604 that appeared on a Network Rail test train, it's a full house of Class 66s this time! 66 sighted in any random order include 66621, 66535, 66119, 66736, 66545, 66109, 66744, 66712, 66557, 66523, 66027 and 66711. With trips to London and Ipswich/Felixstowe Port coming up in the next few weeks, hopefully I can add a few different trains to the mix! Featured images: No video this time, they're on my Youtube channel so you can go and view them at your own accord! I'll do a few images for a change, better ones only of course!
