Excellent pics! Has that top destination reading always been there? I don't remember ever seeing it say "Franklin Avenue-Fulton Street" in its entirety before. Usually one or the other.

Mr GreenEggs, Sometime after the Franklin Shuttle received R68s, the rollsign boxes were removed removed, and these "plastic plaque" type signs were installed in the windows where the rollsigns once stood. Franklin Avenue-Fulton Street is most likely the original reading for the R68s that they were delivered with. Before the rollsign change in April 2001 ( Just months before the Manhattan Bridge (B)(D)(Q)(W) Swap) the 68s received new destination signs, stating the neighborhood/borough, then the street or Avenue.

For Example, with the original signs the Shuttle most likely read, what it says now..

Franklin Avenue-Fulton-Street

Brooklyn

----------------------------------------

Prospect Park

Brooklyn

The (N) used to read:

Ditmars Boulevard-Astoria

Queens

----------------------------------

Coney Island

Brooklyn

The (B) had:

Bedford Park Boulevard

Bronx

---------------------------------

Coney Island

Brooklyn

-------------------------------

So if you notice the pattern, they were much longer readings then what we have today:

    Franklin Av-Fulton St

(S)---------------------------

       Prospect Park

                Astoria

            Ditmars Blvd

(N)-----------------------------------

              Coney Island

                  Bronx

          Bedford Park Blvd

(B)--------------------------------

            Brighton Beach

--------------------------------------------

I hope I clarified it for ya dude :D
