46Dover Posted April 1, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2013 Now Granted MTA Bus is basically in its infancy, what do you think of the idea of at least having one bus from each MTA Bus garage in its predecessor scheme a'la ConnDOT FL9s in New Haven McGinnis colors? Blitz Posted April 1, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 1, 2013 Now Granted MTA Bus is basically in its infancy, what do you think of the idea of at least having one bus from each MTA Bus garage in its predecessor scheme a'la ConnDOT FL9s in New Haven McGinnis colors? They do have one of each ex-PBL bus preserved in its original livery. All except for the Tri Borough Coach and Queens Surface Corp. CNG powered buses If you check out this website, the buses with the gray background are the ones the the MTA has preserved. http://www.ttmg.org/mediawiki/index.php?title=New_York_MTA_Bus_Operations_Depot_Roster
Around the Horn Posted April 1, 2013 Share #3 Posted April 1, 2013 I would gladly see a CURRENT bus from each depot in the colors of the PBL that used that depot(for example a SC bus in command colors)
Q101 E Midtown Posted April 2, 2013 Share #4 Posted April 2, 2013 Going further, they should put the PBL museum buses in revenue service during December.
Guest MTA Bus Posted April 2, 2013 Share #5 Posted April 2, 2013 I would love to see the Queens Surface, Triboro Coach, and Command vintage buses in service this year
46Dover Posted April 2, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted April 2, 2013 I never actually paid much attention to the PBL scene. Did the Triboro have express service into Manhattan?
RailBus63 Posted April 2, 2013 Share #7 Posted April 2, 2013 It's probably too soon for those riders who suffered too long having to ride Triboro and Green junk.
NYCtrainfan01 Posted April 2, 2013 Share #8 Posted April 2, 2013 I never actually paid much attention to the PBL scene. Did the Triboro have express service into Manhattan? Yes it did... QM1to6Ave Posted April 3, 2013 Share #9 Posted April 3, 2013 Don't they pull out the preserved PBL buses for the bus roadeo?
Blitz Posted April 3, 2013 Share #10 Posted April 3, 2013 Don't they pull out the preserved PBL buses for the bus roadeo? They use to, when there still was a roadeo. The last time they had it was in 2008
46Dover Posted April 3, 2013 Author Share #11 Posted April 3, 2013 what I'd like to see is a Triboro Coach painted MCI bus or one for Green Bus Lines

Blitz Posted April 4, 2013 Share #15 Posted April 4, 2013 Sounds about right Yeah, the "Roadeo" was an even held at Floyd Bennett field where B/O's would show off their driving skill, and mechanics would show off their trouble shooting skills.
