R Train Wrong Railing at 59 St

I have seen out of service (R) trains at the northbound express track that wrong rail on the track to the switches at 5 av. Why do (R) trains sometimes wrong rail there to get to Coney Island Yard?

Because there is no X switch at 59 on the express track. So (R) trains have to wrong rail to 8 Av and switch there.
