alekr Posted April 4, 2013 #1 Posted April 4, 2013 Does the super runs after every home Mets game or selected Mets games? I would like to know because I finish work at 4:00pm and some Mets Game begins at 1:10pm thus could be affecting normal Flushing Bound service for the PM rush.
IntExp Posted April 4, 2013 #2 Posted April 4, 2013 No, it only runs for Weekday Night and Weekend Games only. It does not run once the 1:10 pm games are over, b/c as you mentioned, it would interfere w/ PM Rush Hour Express Service.

I think they will just provide few extra train local service trains. The 7:10pm games are reasonable to run the super express because the express service usually ends around 9:30pm
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted April 4, 2013 #4 Posted April 4, 2013 Do they run any special LIRR service for the Mets games??
N6 Limited Posted April 4, 2013 #5 Posted April 4, 2013 What is the service pattern of the Super Express?

Actually they could run it Express on the local. They do that sometimes with the Nostalgia trains on the Lexington Line.
FamousNYLover Posted April 4, 2013 #7 Posted April 4, 2013 Sometimes during METS game, I don't trust exp too much. I remember during weekday night, exp was forced to run local because of METS Super Express are returning to Manhattan (properly for concert at CitiField maybe. It was around 6:00pm-7:00pm-ish.
GojiMet86 Posted April 4, 2013 #8 Posted April 4, 2013 I went to Opening Day (a 1:10 P.M. start), and there wasn't any Mets Express, just the regular Flushing-bound express trains.
trainfan22 Posted April 4, 2013 #9 Posted April 4, 2013 Do they run any special LIRR service for the Mets games?? Only on weekends, they add "extra" service.
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted April 4, 2013 #10 Posted April 4, 2013 Only on weekends, they add "extra" service. Good to know... I've only been to Mets' games via car but it's good to know that they have extra LIRR service for the weekend games...
depotofrelax Posted April 4, 2013 #11 Posted April 4, 2013 Off topic I know no point having run express in bronx too during Yankees game.. As last year game.. during Yankess Game did run express in bronx between 125 street to 149 street Grand Concourse to brunside Avenue for what ever reason during game guessing. If bring line topic during Mets game.. Why not the ... run express in bronx during Yankess game lol.
depotofrelax Posted April 4, 2013 #12 Posted April 4, 2013 Good point Metro - North does stop at Yankees Stadium.
alekr Posted April 5, 2013 Author #13 Posted April 5, 2013 What is the service pattern of the Super Express? super express starts from Citi Field to 61st-Woodside skipping Junction Blvd and 74th Street then straight to Queensboro Plaza then normal service.
IntExp Posted April 5, 2013 #14 Posted April 5, 2013 super express starts from Citi Field to 61st-Woodside skipping Junction Blvd and 74th Street then straight to Queensboro Plaza then normal service. After QBP, they stop at Court Square, and then run nonstop until 42nd-Grand Central. After GC, they resume normal service - for two stops (5th and obvs, TSQ).
GojiMet86 Posted April 8, 2013 #16 Posted April 8, 2013 Oh ok thanks, do they be packed? A bit. The train stays in the station for like 6 minutes before leaving.
qjtransitmaster Posted April 8, 2013 #17 Posted April 8, 2013 Do they run any special LIRR service for the Mets games?? yes Starting to think they do need a bus to woodside area from 125th. Actually they could run it Express on the local. They do that sometimes with the Nostalgia trains on the Lexington Line. err just because they do it doesn't mean it makes sense and they should do it on other lines. It would only get stuck behind a local train defeating the purpose of going express.

Threxx Posted April 8, 2013 #19 Posted April 8, 2013 Off topic: I don't know the point of not having express service in the bronx too during Yankees games, like last year's games. If there is a line topic for trains during Mets games. Why not the a topic for the running express in Bronx during Yankess games? lol. ...please use proper english. Fan Railer Posted April 8, 2013 #20 Posted April 8, 2013 ...please use proper english. The use of smileys also suggest a trollish intent...Trollish intent is apparent, not suggested, in all of his posts. Why do you think the R188 thread has just about gone down the drain in the last page and a half?
Grand Concourse Posted April 9, 2013 #21 Posted April 9, 2013 ...please use proper english. The use of smileys also suggest a trollish intent... And would it kill him to use the edit button instead of double or triple posting?
