I find that interesting because if I remember correctly, one year after 9/11, when former MTA Chairman Peter Kalikow and NYCT President Lawrence Reuter rode in one of the first #1 trains leaving South Ferry (since that station re-opened that day), I thought it was an R142 not an R62...I remember it being on the news that day too, in addition to Transit Transit News...
