Tinamarie Posted April 17, 2013 #1 Posted April 17, 2013 Okay so my dad turned 65 yesterday and that means he is entitled to the reduced fare metrocard. My question is how does one pay for this metrocard? My parents don't want to do the easypay option. Is that the only option though? Thanks!
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted April 18, 2013 #2 Posted April 18, 2013 Well the first question is does he have the card? A co-worker of mine had a reduced fare pass. You have to apply for that first then wait for it to be mailed. You can call the or go on the website (www.mta.info) for the particulars, but the paperwork can be filed down at 3 Stone St. If he doesn't want to do the Easy-Pay option then he'll have to refill it like everyone else does at a subway station via a token booth clerk or a Metrocard vending machine.
peacemak3r Posted April 18, 2013 #3 Posted April 18, 2013 Basically what he said. My grandmother refills at the booth or gives it to me while I go/come back from school.
Interested Rider Posted April 18, 2013 #4 Posted April 18, 2013 Thank you for asking the question, I am applying for mine at the end of next month and the answer that was posted here has helped me as well.
