DJ MC Posted May 10, 2013 #1 Posted May 10, 2013 Interesting day for me today. Part two Well that's about it. Oh wait. Bonus images I forgot.... As you can see I barely caught it. As they say, if at first you don't succeed try, try again unless the bus does not return. Thankfully it did. The Phantom here is 303 (a 1997 with a Cummins M11 and ZF transmission). This was bus was bought like a month ago and is now in service for STS Transportation. Enjoy.
mtattrain Posted May 10, 2013 #2 Posted May 10, 2013 Great ones! Would you happen to know what agency operates this system and what system these buses were bought from. Also, interesting to see those "C"s on the TMC RTS-06... do you know what those "C"s could stand for?
User Posted May 10, 2013 #3 Posted May 10, 2013 Who runs those "DowntownDisneyHotels.com" buses? I've never seen those before.

Also, interesting to see those "C"s on the TMC RTS-06... do you know what those "C"s could stand for? The agency that owns those Phantoms is known as Maingate Taxi. As for those Gilligs I am not sure who owned them before, however I can say they did not come from Florida otherwise you would see extra taillights on the rear of the bus. The "C" for TMCs, I have no clue what they could mean. I'll ask when I go over there again. Who runs those "DowntownDisneyHotels.com" buses? I've never seen those before. Mears. Those buses are former AC Transit NABIs built in 1997. Some of the fleet was retired early back in 2007 and 14 of them were transferred to Florida where they can be seen running on I-4 as well as the parks around Disney. Not all of them are blue colored as there are some painted white. The ones painted white retain their original Luminator MegaMax destination signs. The ones painted blue have TwinVision destination signs. All with Series 50 engines and Allison B400R transmissions. I also have reason to believe there maybe more then just 14 NABIs.
gmnewlook Posted November 5, 2013 #5 Posted November 5, 2013 Interesting... My wife and I are planning to bring our girls (5 and 11) to Disney World next summer and I was wondering if Disney Transport and LYNX are fan and photographer friendly? We plan to be there for a minimum of 7 days, so I would like to make the best of it. You know, the kids having fun in the rides and dad having fun taking bus pics! I'll also do my usual research before going into new undiscovered territory!

compobus fan Posted November 6, 2013 #9 Posted November 6, 2013 You'll have a great time down here and you may spot some rare stuff around here. Be sure to get a picture of the new Disney paint scheme, which replaces White with Silver, they look much better !!
gmnewlook Posted November 6, 2013 #10 Posted November 6, 2013 Yeah, saw it on the CPTDB and on one of the Facebook groups I belong to. Will look out for it.
