If you could change one thing on each subway route

Recommended Posts

If you could change one thing about any of the 23 subway routes, what is it?

I'll start off here...

IRT A Division -

(1): same

(2): same but no limit service to/from New Lots

(3): same

(4): same but no limit service to/from New Lots

(5): same but no limit service to/from Nereid, Utica and New Lots

(6): same but all local between Pelham Bay Park and Brooklyn Bridge every time, no more Parkchester dropouts and no more <6> express

(7): same

Times Square-Grand Channel (S):

IND/BMT B Division -

(A): same but no limit service to/from Rockaway Park, all trains run between 207th and Lefferts/Far Rockaway

(B): same

(C): same

(D): same

(E): same but no limit service to/from Jamaica-179th Street

(F): same but no more Kings Highway dropouts

(M): same

(N): same but express between Lexington Avenue/59th Street and Canal Street, the BMT Broadway Line north of 57th Street-7th Avenue is also four-tracked under 60th Street, not 59th Street while 5th Avenue is design as a local stop.

(Q): operates at all times between 125th Street-2nd Avenue and Coney Island

(R): same

Fulton Street-Prospect Park (S): same

Broad Channel-Rockaway Park (S): same but operates with full length trains all summer long (not just summer weekends) and is six cars shorter at other times.

I disagree with the whole (6) thing... the express is very well used and such a change wouldn't be received well.

I think the IRT is fine, but as for the B Division...

(A): More service, maybe extra shortturns between Euclid Avenue and 207th Street.

(B): Weekend service between 2nd Avenue and 145th Street.

(C): Increased service on weekdays and weekends.

(D): Same

(E): Same

(F): Kings Highway trains cut back to Church Avenue to reduce route length.

(G): Full length trains, increased service, and some trips to Coney Island.

(J) / (Z): Service restructured to have some local (J) trips from Broadway Junction/Crescent Street to Broad Street to supplement service.

(M): Same

(N): Express in Manhattan.

(Q): Terminates at 57th Street all times.

(R): Same, but with increased service on weekends.

(W): Weekdays only between Bay Parkway, Brooklyn and Astoria, Queens.

I would love to see weekend (B) 's in Brighton but everything really seems fine to me.
