Message added by +Young+

BUS OPERATOR #4600

List Status Update: 1/16/22 The list for this specific exam has been extended to January 6th, 2024.

Training: See the DOB New Hire FAQ topic for more information.

Next Scheduled Class: You will be scheduled with candidates of more recent Bus Operator exams (which are pinned), so check those threads for more information.

For those of you who wish to restore your name to the list, you must do so by sending an e-mail to certificationunit@dcas.nyc.gov. In your e-mail, state your full name, exam number, list number, the last four of your social security number, and a brief reason why you're restoring your name to the list. You don't have to go into full detail in the e-mail.

For those who will be reporting to Livingston Street in the future, click here for the pre-employment packet and click here or for extra pages of the CPD-B booklet (if you need them) for final processing.

Next, for those of you who are still waiting, you folks might want to check out this and this YouTube video. In addition, if you need help getting your Class B CLP (Commercial Learner's Permit), I would encourage you to check out cristcdl.com which is free!! Remember, the multiple-choice tests you need to take and pass, at minimum, are General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsement.

Finally, if you need to make an appointment at the DMV to take the multiple-choice examinations for your Commercial Learner's Permit, click here.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We're here to help each other.

Good luck!

ive heard there would be no math on this test, maybe some questions about comparing military times ,but no math that's what ive heard from the exam class teacher

Well, at the exam class there were math patterns plus another area which involved adding miles which included decimals (e.g .3 miles + 2.6 miles, etc). We can also bring a basic calculator, so the math shouldn't be that much of an issue for most people taking the test.

yea that was adding some bus  routes on a section of the booklet .adding miles ,but that's nothing is easy, you went to the exam class to,test shouldn't be that hard for those who went to the class, but those who didn't is pretty tricky cause you have to know how to read the headway in times schedules and running time other than that is easy if the test has what they gave at the class

I have a question for the people who attended the exam preparation class this past Saturday in Ozone Park.  I just went over the booklet we received in the class and realized I have unanswered questions in Lesson 3-Headway pages 1-14 through 1-16.  I was there on time and back from the break we had early so I'm unsure how I missed these questions.  Can anyone check their booklet and see if we didn't go over the answers to those questions during the class or if it's just me?

Hey Ctrain24, it's not you. They never went over those pages. I guess we can just use it as a practice, even though there is no answer key. I guess we can always email them and ask for the answers too.

about the headway and running time if you was not there those maps of headways and running time is hard to get the answer if you was not there when he explained ,I attended the class in staten  island nov. 23rd  and he was explaining  kind of fast but I really paid attention to how you get the answers with the running time map and the headway map which will be hard if you don't know ,

Headways.  It's Lesson 3 in my book and starts on 1-14.  First question reads:  Answer the following 6 questions based on the Headway schedule shown above.  There's 15 questions total.

@newcareermta4600,

Yes, it's the same meaning.

As for the test time, the test is supposed to be 3 hrs, 80 questions. Others mentioned something saying it's 1 1/2 hours. If that's the case, the test should end up having 40 questions instead of 80. Either way, there should be more than enough time for most people taking it.
