Message added by +Young+

BUS OPERATOR #4600

List Status Update: 1/16/22 The list for this specific exam has been extended to January 6th, 2024.

Training: See the DOB New Hire FAQ topic for more information.

Next Scheduled Class: You will be scheduled with candidates of more recent Bus Operator exams (which are pinned), so check those threads for more information.

For those of you who wish to restore your name to the list, you must do so by sending an e-mail to certificationunit@dcas.nyc.gov. In your e-mail, state your full name, exam number, list number, the last four of your social security number, and a brief reason why you're restoring your name to the list. You don't have to go into full detail in the e-mail.

For those who will be reporting to Livingston Street in the future, click here for the pre-employment packet and click here or for extra pages of the CPD-B booklet (if you need them) for final processing.

Next, for those of you who are still waiting, you folks might want to check out this and this YouTube video. In addition, if you need help getting your Class B CLP (Commercial Learner's Permit), I would encourage you to check out cristcdl.com which is free!! Remember, the multiple-choice tests you need to take and pass, at minimum, are General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsement.

Finally, if you need to make an appointment at the DMV to take the multiple-choice examinations for your Commercial Learner's Permit, click here.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We're here to help each other.

Good luck!

@nycgamer18. Because my uncle works at yukon and i have him asking all the mew students that come in what their list numbers are lol. You gotta think if that number is line training already they may have already called the remainder of the list. To fill the zerega classroom with 80-100 people they probably have to burn thru at least 200-300 of the list.

@y2drag. what would be the reasons why the 200-300 had gotten disqualified and only 80-100 had gotten picked for the class?

From my experience, several reasons. Some of the reasons I can currently think of are:

a) Changed their minds (for whatever reason)

b) Never got the initial notice in the mail (again, for whatever reason)

c) License had extensive accidents, tickets, points, etc.

d) Problem with background and/or criminal record

e) Failed drug test and/or refused to take test

f) Got placed on medical hold and never took care of the scenario

Is there anything else that I might have forgotten? Thanks in advance...

When they pull in a group off the list for processing at livingston they have a preset number of students they need for a full class at zerega.

Say that number is 100...they will initially send out letters to 100 people for processing. At the end of the day at least half of those people will be disqualified or on hold for reasons specified above. Then they will send out another 100 letters to fill the remaining 50 spots. Suppose of the second group of 100 they filled their quota after 75 people, the other 25 will not get called for final processing. Thats why you hear of people getting called to livingston for a drug test and then getting a second letter telling them theyre good for now and they have to wait to get called back.

When i was there, people were dropping like flies lol. I saw a few people get placed on hold just from the vision test alone. But on a good note i was called in for drug test on a Monday, called in for medical on friday at which point they will tell you it will be 3-90 days wait and i was appointed 3 days later.

@youngnycsubwayfan. If I was placed on medical hold because of my blood pressure how might I be taken off of medical hold. Please assist me with the procedures.

Very simple. Go to your primary care physician, explain to him/her the situation, and take it from there. They may be able to provide you with a note, or, worse comes to worse, you might have to go to a specialist.

@youngnycsubwayfan. You seem to be very knowledgable. Have you heard of anyone being skipped from receiving notice for pre employment. If so why?

To my knowledge, no.

@youngnycsubwayfan. So I'm under a small dosage of meds 25mg water pill (bp is not extremely high 147/88 but just want to cover all ends). So all I should do is get a notice of clearance from my doctor(which I have already have but is dated 12/14/2015 but still waiting to get call) and I should be fine? If so should I use the clearance letter I already have or should I wait until I get called and ask for a more recent one. What do you suggest?

First, the acceptable b/p readings are anywhere from 110/70  to 130/90, so it's good that you have a clearance note. However, the clearance notes are only good for 3 months. Therefore, since the one you currently have is going to expire soon, I would go back and get an updated one. You'll be thanking yourself when the physician does not put you on Medical Hold for an outdated note.

Hi guys I'm new to this site...

I have a question:

I got my list number last month, now last week I was involved in a fender bender accident where theirs an accident report, it will probably be on my abstract soon, will that disqualify me from being hired?

For the next three years, yes. After that, providing nothing else happens, you're good. Therefore, depending on your list number, it may work out for you. If not, you just need to reinstate your list number when the time comes, that's all.

you shouldn't be disqualified  if your driving record is good other than this fender bender make sure to mark on your application  be upfront about it

From my experience with the hiring process for B/O exam 2613, they did not tolerate any accidents whatsoever...

My driving record pretty much clean, I don't have any tickets, I got rear end in 2010 but that came off my abstract 3 years ago. A car ran the redlight and nearly collided with my car, to avoid it I swerve and hit a park car, no injuries moderate to light property damage. My list number is 4**** I heard it might be a few years before they get to my number!

I was hired march 23 2015. I had a small accident that was considered my fault by the police report and about 1500 in damage total nobody injured. This accident was February of 2014. They never even asked me about it...just dont lie. Be very explicit when asked about the details of the accident.

Hi guys, I have a question. I have a accident from 3/2013 on my record. After 2017 it should gone, but do I have to let MTA know if it doesn't show up on my driving record by the time I get called?

IRRC they want you to go back 10 years  double check before you leave it out don't hide anything on the application

They go back all the way to 10 years even if it isn't on your abstract? So let's say you had 2 accident in a 7 yr span, is that a bad look in their eyes?
