Abba Posted May 29, 2013 Share #1 Posted May 29, 2013 https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-transit-app/id498151501?mt=8 And https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/intime-nyc-never-miss-your/id402476594?mt=8 The second one is very cool because it also shows you the terminal where the train departed and where it's headed.it even shows extra trains like let's say E3 1115 135/NLT.Saw that Sunday. First is also very nice but its also kind of buggy.Hopefully that will get aroused soon.Would be nice if the first app showed you trains that are right near the terminal. But the second one kind of does that.Nice to see apps like this.Hope they keep coming! TriboroughBridge Posted May 29, 2013 Share #4 Posted May 29, 2013 Why do they keep making these for iPhones, but not Android????
R160 Posted May 29, 2013 Share #5 Posted May 29, 2013 Why do they keep making these for iPhones, but not Android???? Because Android is especially difficult to code and there are so many different versions where as iOS is much more uniform.
RookiePhenom Posted May 29, 2013 Share #6 Posted May 29, 2013 In light of the Transit App: I had paid $5 for it in October, I'm glad they released 2.0 for free (although I would've loved to see a small refund lol). What I like about Transit is that they'll give you the listings and arrival times for all of the bus and train lines, within a radius, of your stop. While some agencies still don't have the technology for real-time information (i.e. Pace here in Chicago), the app will put the 'scheduled' time for the nearest stop. I've used it for DC, SF, Chicago, and Toronto, and it works* *as much as your carrier's towers will cooperate with your device.
Abba Posted June 4, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted June 4, 2013 Here is another app with real time data.this one dosent have pictures but I like it beacuse it tells you where the train actually is in addition to how many minutes away it is.also it's the first app designed for iPad that has real time data. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/new-york-subway-map/id369691844?mt=
AndrewJC Posted June 5, 2013 Share #8 Posted June 5, 2013 Why do they keep making these for iPhones, but not Android???? "They"? These are released by private developers, who can write software for whichever platforms they like.
