Image posting glitch

If I use the image icon in the toolbar it works.

 

But if I type in the img tags by hand and I'm not in "show code" mode, I get an error:

 

 

You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community.

Is this by design or a bug?

Hmm, i typed in the tags by hand and it worked. May be an error in the way your browser is reading and understanding the site's code.

It should automatically convert it to that format when you do it the old way.

 

Plus, you had a space in the link there.

Works fine for me too.

 

Don't try to get fancy with it.  Click on the insert image icon and paste the URL the image and hit okay.
