Extra Subway Bullets on R62/62As

Recommended Posts

I don't know where I saw them, but I had seen rollsigns on the R62 and R62A cars to suggest there was going to be other lines. For instance, 11 was with the (7), and I thought there was a 12 and 13 in 7 Avenue colors. Anyone else see this and know what the purpose of these routes supposedly were?

I haven't personally seen them but there's a green 8, 12 and a 14 which is rumored to only be installed in some trains (not sure if true)

Lets see...

Green (Lex): 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12

Red (7 Av): 1, 2, 3, 9, 13

Purple (Flushing): 7, 11

There were rumors that there was a green 14, but no one seen it

Substitutes for the diamonds.

Ie <7> would become the 11.

I still believe that the 11 would differentiate flushing express service a lot better than the <7>.  Kind of like how it was on 3rd Avenue with the Bx15 being the local and the 55 as the limited counterpart (although they drew away from that for the next pick).

I actually believe in the old IND way of seperating local and express via a double indication. In this case the (7) would become the (7)(7)

Then again, if the crews don't change the signs, then you'll confuse a bunch of people over what train does what. I think it's best to leave it as a diamond.
