LACMTA recommends buying up to 25 BYD buses

Yes, LACMTA approved the order, as referenced in this news article. This order as well as LBT's should be coming along nicely this year if all goes as planned.

 

Also, buses for both agencies will vary slightly from the original North American pilot bus. Most noticeable is the introduction of a wide front bumper and the reduction of the rear most doorway. The new pilot is featured below.

The plant is in Lancaster, CA, to satisfy Buy America. The idea of a bus engineered in China though...

While I'm inclined to agree, we'll just have to see how it performs before we pass final judgement.
