Brighton Local Posted June 9, 2013 Share #1 Posted June 9, 2013 Its been a couple of years since Ive rode the Light Rail between Phoenix & Mesa, but I took full advantage of my time in Arizona to fan the system twice. I grabbed a handful of photos; brought back many memories of my 5 years I lived in Arizona. Yeah I do miss it there . These were taken between May 21 & 25, 2013 Anyways, enjoy the shots my friends.. Brighton Local Posted June 11, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted June 11, 2013 Haven't seen much of light rail in Phoenix. Excellent shots. Yeah, I lived in Arizona for 5 years. I was there when the Light Rail was still under construction, then I was there for the opening.. And now the system is racing towards its 5th Birthday come December. Thank You! GreeneggsnPelham Posted January 12, 2014 Share #4 Posted January 12, 2014 Damn brother, you sure know how to make our tiny route look grand! I can't wait to fan with you upon your return. Right now they are preparing to lay tracks in Mesa for the extension--still no word on the northern extension near my house. I will have to get some shots very soon! -A
Minato ku Posted January 13, 2014 Share #5 Posted January 13, 2014 How the light rail is doing in Phoenix? I have followed a bit the construction and opening on other forums several years ago.
Cyberider Posted January 13, 2014 Share #6 Posted January 13, 2014 Great photos, Zach! No use me going out to take any because they won't be as good as yours. Minato ku, the light rail line is being extended eastward into downtown Mesa and the street is being worked on in preparation. At some point the west end of the line is supposed to be extended further up 19th Avenue. I ride the line once a month. For the first several years, the trains ran at 10-minute intervals on weekdays. They now run at 12-minute intervals despite the fact that a higher ridership is claimed.
Minato ku Posted January 13, 2014 Share #7 Posted January 13, 2014 Thank you. Looking the ridership data, it is pretty impressive for a city like Phoenix, maybe one of the most transit unfriendly big city in the United State. 41,800 passengers on a single line.
