BM5 via Woodhaven Posted June 9, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted June 9, 2013 How much does it cost to get on the X80 and what is the big different between taking the x80 and M35 It's $6.00 round trip. To Ichann stadium, the difference is that the X80 is non stop and directly serves the Stadium, (with the M35, you would need to walk a bit). Also, you dont ride with wheelchair people, homeless, and those other unpleant people on the X80 than with the M35. Going back, the M35 is $2.50, while the X80 is free. The X80 comes every 7 minutes, rather than the M35, every 15 minutes , and due to some event personnel and others going try to go cheap, you might end up waiting 15 minutes in the sun (especially today) The X80 has somehow seen cuts BTW. Originally, the last bus to Randalls left at 11:30 PM and the last bus to Harlem at 11:45. The bus schedule to harlem remains the same, but now the last bus to Randalls leaves at 11:00 PM not 11:30 PM anymore. Also, the headways on the X80 went from 10 minutes Midday, 7 minutes AM Peak, PM peak, and evenings. Now it's 15 minutes middays (No AM peak service anymore) 10 minutes PM peak, and 12 minutes Middays.

nostalgia Posted June 10, 2013 Share #10 Posted June 10, 2013 I couldn't find the X80 on the website. It's not drawn on the Manhattan nor Bronx bus maps. It's not listed on the M35 schedule but X80 and X81 are listed on the M35 map. Seems to be a secret bus route.
Guest MTA Bus Posted June 10, 2013 Share #11 Posted June 10, 2013 The x80 only see service when there's an event on Randall's Island, so it doesn't have a official bus timetable.

BM5 via Woodhaven Posted June 10, 2013 Author Share #13 Posted June 10, 2013 Then how do you find out the schedule? Look at the events schedule on the Randall's Island Website or check the MTA website for updates. It will say so on the weekender, on the lower left hand corner, that's how I found out. If the lower left hand corner mentions a Randalls Island Event, the X80 will definetly run. It will run from August 30- September 1 for Electric Zoo, that is certain. The X81 is 6 feet below so theres no way it's gonna return.
