Tuskegee D60HF goes up in flames

Recommended Posts

Whoops. Photo credit to Riian McCormick. Was in the area, knew I heard a ton of sirens this morning.

Just been informed that that was bus 5615 that burnt down. I went by there a few minutes ago, bus is gone but there's a whole lot of DD50 on the ground.

Na chill you can smile with RTS. But i love those D60s

:P It'll probably be replaced with one of those new artics... I saw a bunch of those Xcelsior buses along the Concourse a little while ago.  The rest were LFSA's.

Excuse you.

What'd you try to say?

Back when someone posted about a LGA RTS being scrapped, he said something like "there goes another one :D "

So this time he said "another bites the dust :D " so thats why i said what i said.

5615 was a real runner back when it was at 126 and it had gotten some much needed TLC at Quill. It was also one of the last D60s at the time along with 5644 to have those Siemens Automated Announcements.

From looking at the other photos posted elsewhere, this one will come back in due time.

Followup to this with a photo from Bobby Williams.

Looks like 5615 will need a new engine and some internal work, but the exterior of the bus is in remarkably good shape.

Easily salvageable in comparison to other losses.

Question is, do they want to?
