Pablo M 201 35 Posted August 15, 2008 Share #1 Posted August 15, 2008 Man oh man, the Port Washington branch is really messed up today. That rain really screwed things up. I'm surprised nothing like this happened on the PW yesterday. But about 5 trains were canceled which include: The 5:26 PM train from Penn Station due in Port Washington at 6:04 PM has been cancelled; customers will be accommodated by the 5:29 PM train from Penn Station due in Great Neck at 6:05 PM; which will be extended to Port Washington. The 5:51 PM train from Penn Station due in Great Neck at 6:19 PM has been cancelled; customers will be accommodated by the 5:56 PM train from Penn Station due in Great Neck at 6:31 PM. The 6:24 PM train from Penn Station due in Port Washington at 7:40 PM has been cancelled; customers will be accommodated by the 6:42 PM train from Penn Station due in Great Neck at 7:17 PM; which will be extended to Port Washington. The 4:06 PM train from Port Washington due in Penn Station at 4:51 PM has been cancelled. Customers will be accommodated by the 4:36 PM train from Port Washington due in Penn Station at 5:20 PM; which will be extended to Port Washington. The 5:00 PM train from Port Washington due in Penn Station at 5:47 PM has been cancelled; customers will be accommodated by the 5:23 PM train from Port Washington due in Penn Station at 6:02 PM. So yeah, good luck getting a seat for you PW customers! http://www.mta.info/alert/alertlirr.htm
metsfan 2 Posted August 16, 2008 Share #2 Posted August 16, 2008 Didn't they just do interlocking replacement where the PW leaves the main line? - Andy
JohnQPine 0 Posted August 16, 2008 Share #3 Posted August 16, 2008 Those were some bad storms over the north shore of Nassau, I am not surpised at the problems. Metro-North got hit hard too.
