NJ TRANSIT OFFERS CUSTOMERS A 'FORTNIGHT OF FREE PARKING' AT RAMSEY RT. 17 STATION

Customers park free from August 18 through September 3

 

NEWARK, NJ — NJ TRANSIT is offering two weeks of free daily parking at Ramsey Route 17 Station when customers take the train from Saturday, August 18 through Monday, September 3, 2007.

 

"This offer gives customers an opportunity to discover for themselves what a convenient travel option Ramsey Route 17 Station represents," said Penny Bassett Hackett, NJ TRANSIT’s Chief Spokesperson. "It also provides a solution for those northern Bergen County customers who may be competing for parking at other facilities along the Main/Bergen County Line."

 

Customers can enjoy a day of leisure or night on the town without the stress and expense of driving by parking for free at the Ramsey Route 17 Station, then taking the train to a wide variety of entertainment, dining, shows, and spectacles in New Jersey and New York.

 

Ramsey Route 17 Station, which opened in August 2004, provides more than 1,200 parking spaces for customers of NJ TRANSIT’s Main/Bergen County Line. Conveniently located on one of Bergen County’s busiest highways, the station is easily accessible from Rockland, Orange and northern Bergen counties.

 

Direct rail service is available to Hoboken Terminal, and connecting service to New York is available at Secaucus Junction. Connecting to New York through Secaucus Junction saves commuters as much as 20 minutes in each direction.

 

On weekdays, 89 trains serve the station, including 20 during peak periods. Three express trains operate inbound to Secaucus and Hoboken during the morning peak, with three express trains running from Hoboken during the evening peak.

 

To park for free, customers must validate their parking tickets at the pay stations located on levels 1 and 3. Customers are reminded to take their validated ticket with them for use when exiting the parking deck.
