This man is a dictator. Like Benito Mussolini, or Adolf Hitler, or Julius Caesar. This guy needs to get impeached, or it will set a precedent that other presidents later on will follow. It is disgusting..........
Someone's been watching too much Pox (I mean Fox) News...

Is this a joke?

Obama (much like all these presidents) are nothing more than figureheads..... They are told what to do.

Dictators are not told what to do - they do the telling (and contract for much more deviant shit, such as killings, if they feel the need to)......

Obama is the furthest thing from a dictator...

The man is a puppet, and I would say more so than any other president in history.

Dictators get their plans accomplished without any intervention and do it quick.

It's taken Obamacare some years to pass. Obamacare was repeatedly objected to, and by no means is it having success.

Clearly not the mark of a dictator.

To make it clear, no President in US has reached the heights of a real dictator. Not even FDR, who ran for 4 terms. I'll go as far to see that as much as I didn't agree with many of his policies, and as much as people don't like him, not even Bush was close.

You clearly don't know what a dictator is.

The whole reason term limits came into existence is because FDR began to show dictator-like qualities.

You are a massive idiot. I was going to begin tell you why you were wrong (perhaps starting with the Holocaust), but then I remembered it was pointless.

Here's the thing; I strongly supported Candidate Obama in 2008, because he positioned himself in the opposite ideological corner from McCain on basically everything (and Sarah Palin was so pitifully incompetent that the thought of her one heart attack away from the Oval Office was scary). McCain was a major proponent of the surge and continuation of the war in Iraq; Obama wanted out as soon as possible. Obama was much more socially liberal than McCain (which was huge), and his record on civil liberties, while not spotless (voted yes on the Patriot Act reauthorization), depicted him as much more willing to rein in the NSA, DHS, etc. than McCain ever would have been. He publicly supported a federal stimulus, while McCain went on record as a proponent of austerity. Furthermore, the original healthcare reform proposal he put out

Once he became President Obama, he wound up significantly compromising on several of the issues that were more important to me. He did get the stimulus through, and I'm incredibly grateful for that. Obamacare, while decidedly better than the status quo for the people who need it the most, had a fair amount of the teeth stripped out of it (no public option, among other things), and wound up being more of a gift to the insurance industry than a means of reining them in. That said, most of the new rules it imposed on insurers are things I completely agree with. This whole "You can keep your doctor" thing strikes me as a regrettable mistake; what he meant was "We won't make the insurance companies throw you off your existing plans, but if they rewrite half the rules, jack up the rates, or boot you off on their own then our hands are tied."

I am quite disappointed in the extent to which he got comfortable with our domestic intelligence apparatus; I would have hoped that he would have moved to rein the NSA in hard and fast, and that he would have shown at least some degree of restraint in his handling of the Snowden affair. Candidate Obama proclaimed severe discomfort with things like warrantless wiretapping and the extent to which the Bush administration redefined homeland security as carte blanche for punching holes in the Fourth Amendment; once he became president he seemed to decide that the NSA was more useful as it was under Bush than it was when bound by law.

I still voted for him in 2012 despite these disappointments, and I still wouldn't change my vote even knowing what I know now. As much as I wish President Obama was able to follow through on all the things Candidate Obama promised me, I didn't particularly like the idea of a President Romney either. From what I could tell, Romney's position in the general election (inasmuch as he actually had one) was a cross between the neoconservative social, intelligence-gathering, and foreign policies that we saw under Bush II and an austerity-based economic policy tenfold worse than the things McCain had proposed.

You could make the argument that Romney might have been more on the ball in Syria than Obama, and that this might have put a damper on all the bloodshed over there, and you might be right. That said, I could also make the argument that Romney would have gotten us into World War III with Iran by now, whereas Obama's been willing to negotiate with them (and thus offer us the real possibility of a curtailed Iranian nuclear program with not a drop of American or Iranian blood spilled in the process).

Furthermore, it is possible that Obama's handling of the ACA would have been better if he'd recognized from the start that Republicans weren't going to give him jack and he might as well ram through whatever he wanted; I would also argue that the Congress we've had since 2010 has basically made it impossible to get anything done except by executive order (which he's been using fairly sparingly, as any sane man would). As suboptimal as Barack Obama's presidency may have been, it's orders of magnitude better in my mind than either of the alternatives we were presented with.

As a general truth, presidents as 'figureheads' as many pointed out, regardless of political affiliation or race will be just that: Backstabbing presidents.

Due to the checks and balances provision in place, the US Congress would have a higher influence in political affairs then the president himself if you think about it. Proposals cannot pass the house or on the senate floor without a majority vote.

So what the president does is force bills through congress at the last minute without the lawmakers being able to review the proposals and forced to vote in a window of time not sufficient to debate.

Am just disappointed with congress job Performance overall, blaming the president means nothing if congress can't get there shit together. he and many other presidents before him are just punching bag for the american people to hit on just so we can feel good about are selves while Congress gets big checks from the lobbying groups and Washington all for complaining and doing nothing.

He's speaking metaphorically.  Obamacare was rammed through and passed, even though many Americans opposed it.  It's been a failure because his administration has been a failure.  I'd fire all of them esp. that airhead overseeing the construction of the website.  What a debacle.  <_<

Your words are strong.

And true... Millions of Americans will lose their original healthcare packages.  This guy promised that wouldn't be the case and he was the one touting the program and didn't even know all of the ends and outs! Utterly inexcusable.  I'm sure his healthcare won't be affected though.  Meanwhile, his administration can't even get the website up and running and they have the audacity to put a "mandate" in to require Americans to go on to a website and sign up for programs that they may not be able to even access because #1 the website is still a mess and can't handle the volume of people visiting it, and #2 there are security issues on a site where millions of Americans are being asked to hand over their personal information (SS#, etc.).

All people do is complain...

Complaining won't get anyone far from the task at hand. It's only delaying what needs to be done. I wish Congress could get that message loud and clear. We would be in a better position by now.

I've read a NY Times article yesterday on this subject. You know what? You are right! I was appalled to see how many people confirmed that they were robbed of their healthcare packages. I tell you as I've said somewhere on this forum, backstabbing presidents.... all of them. This is exactly why even though I am a registered independant I do not vote. I mean vote for who? The lesser of the two evils?

I personally think we put too much fairh in government, expecting it to solve big problems that we as citizens could solve for cheaper, faster and more cost effective than national , state or local programs. But nobody wants to do that because its vilified as socialism or evil.Im talking about cooperation. Something the country was built on. Cooperatives exist throughout the country, but many people dont know what they are, or wrongly regard them as socialism or communism. Mention an idea for a cooperative or communal community and people are up in arms. They just expect the government to throw money at the problem, and sit in their ass and feel good that they gave to charity or that some one rlse is doing the work. Believe me, i do it also, but i'm beginning to change.Just my thoughts thus far. That said, i did vote Obama, mainly because he was sadly the lesser of two evils. I almost voted for an independent, but none were on my ballot.Sent from my iPhone 5c using Tapatalk
