NYSubwayBuff Posted January 31, 2014 #1 Posted January 31, 2014 BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man shot up a Brooklyn bus, injuring one, after a rider refused to give him money Friday morning. Cops say the dispute began just before 10 a.m. on the B12 bus at East New York Avenue and Thomas S Boyland Street. Witnesses told PIX11 the suspect was asking for money aboard the bus and when one rider said “no,” he said, “Today is your lucky day,” and began shooting. The man allegedly began shooting after a rider refused to give him money. The shooter and victim began tussling and the bus driver pulled over, allowing passengers to flood out of the bus. About seven people were on the bus at the time of the incident. A 31-year-old was shot in the hand and is being treated for a non-life threatening injury at a nearby hospital. The gun was recovered on the bus and the suspect is in custody. Read more: http://pix11.com/2014/01/31/man-shoots-up-brooklyn-bus-after-rider-doesnt-give-him-money/#ixzz2s1RyV5XM
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted January 31, 2014 #2 Posted January 31, 2014 B12 East New York bus... What a surprise... And I thought the subways were bad...
Missabassie Posted January 31, 2014 #3 Posted January 31, 2014 WTF? Boy, they're really turnin' those crazied a loose these days...
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted January 31, 2014 #4 Posted January 31, 2014 WTF? Boy, they're really turnin' those crazied a loose these days... I'm telling you they are... This morning I took the train at Atlantic Avenue... There were at least three weirdos on the platform... One digging in the garbage can as if he was on an exploration (he was dressed normally and didn't look like a bum, but he seemed to be the type that would eat or drink anything left behind)... Then there was another weirdo (homeless guy I assume) on the platform staring aimlessly into space and another weirdo not too far from him. Hell even the express bus isn't a safe haven. For the last few weeks there's been this wacko riding on the BxM2 on the weekends yelling in the back. Clearly not wrapped to tight in the head.
Vistausss Posted February 1, 2014 #5 Posted February 1, 2014 @VG8: Sometimes I'm staring aimlessly into space on the platform as well, are you calling me a weirdo as well? But you seem to have some sort of social problem. The last few weeks you're constantly judging people, groups of people or even entire neighbourhoods. What's wrong with you?

Listen, I'm a New Yorker... I know when I see a weirdo... Nobody wears shorts and a t-shirt in 20 degree weather unless they're a nut job... The guy looked half deranged...
Culver Posted February 1, 2014 #7 Posted February 1, 2014 lol... Listen, I'm a New Yorker... I know when I see a weirdo... Nobody wears shorts and a t-shirt in 20 degree weather unless they're a nut job... The guy looked half deranged... Hey, you made it through the subway without fainting, so we all give you props for that. We know how tough it is to be on the scary subways, what with all those weird people.
XcelsiorBoii4888 Posted February 1, 2014 #8 Posted February 1, 2014 Mann....I thought this ishh was over. I have to start riding those ENY routes starting spring break for school related events. Dafuqq is wrong with people mannn. Guns....i dont f**k with that.

Nah, that's all the time with this guy. lol... Listen, I'm a New Yorker... I know when I see a weirdo... Nobody wears shorts and a t-shirt in 20 degree weather unless they're a nut job... The guy looked half deranged... Thanks for the compliment dude. I'm sure you'll blend right in with nut crushing True Religion jeans here in Cali.
aemoreira81 Posted February 1, 2014 #10 Posted February 1, 2014 The gunman also has to be a bit mentally slow. Why I say that...this incident occurred just before the bus would have passed the 73rd Precinct. The driver was able to stop the bus right at the front door and police ran out of the precinct to arrest the perp. An off-duty cop slapped the cuffs on before the suspect could flee.
NewFlyer 230 Posted February 1, 2014 #11 Posted February 1, 2014 The most horriblest place to be trapped with a gun man is either on a crowded train or city bus. What the hell is wrong with people? They must think they are so cool and powerful with a gun.
46Dover Posted February 1, 2014 #12 Posted February 1, 2014 Calling for security on buses. Security on buses. *crickets chirping*
Vistausss Posted February 1, 2014 #13 Posted February 1, 2014 Calling for security on buses. Security on buses. *crickets chirping* Even if security comes, after a while there will be personell cuts and security will be no more. That s how it happened here. Security came, everybody happy, a few months later there were cuts and bye-bye security on buses. And given the (MTA)'s financial issues it seems very likely to happen in NYC too.
NewFlyer 230 Posted February 1, 2014 #14 Posted February 1, 2014 What's next metal detectors on public transportation such as buses and trains?
46Dover Posted February 1, 2014 #15 Posted February 1, 2014 What's next metal detectors on public transportation such as buses and trains? You'd still require manpower to operate such equipment and kick the miscreants off
Vistausss Posted February 1, 2014 #16 Posted February 1, 2014 You'd still require manpower to operate such equipment and kick the miscreants off Given the s financial situation, security would be more feasible than metal detectors. Not that theyre gonna do it, but at least security personell is a lot cheaper than metal detectors.
B35 via Church Posted February 1, 2014 #17 Posted February 1, 2014 I've incorporated the B12 into my commute home... Instead of gettin off at Atlantic Term/Barclays, I get off at LIRR ENY & walk over to the 12.... Hell, I just got off the damn thing about an hour or so ago (I'm still waiting for the WB stop at albany/clarkson (on clarkson) to be put back... CAMBA gardens is done built up & people are living there already.... Tired of walkin from winthrop/albany [the buses don't even stop at the shelter across the street from the temporary stop; meaning ya gotta worry about the nuts flying down winthrop]....) With that said, I haven't heard about this shooting, and it is of no surprise that you'd get some nutcase on that route ready, willing, and able to shoot the club bus up over something as stupid as this.... This is a good reason why I ALWAYS watch someone's hands whenever they're approaching me, especially after directing a comment or a question my way... Man, woman, child, it does not matter.... Obviously not gonna stop taking the route after this, nor am I gonna be anymore cautious b/c of it..... side note: I know I call the Q100 the baby mama express.... I think I'm gonna start calling the B12 the baby mama local....
Turbo19 Posted February 1, 2014 #18 Posted February 1, 2014 What's next metal detectors on public transportation such as buses and trains? Hell no. People are making this out to be a bigger deal than it need be. The last thing needed is extra "enforcement" as it only sounds reasonable (and not by much) in theory and almost always never executed well. Furthermore I'm going on to say that most increased security measures are disrespectful and dignifying. That is not what is needed on public transportation.

Catching a typo way late, for the record obviously I meant to say indignifying. Glad to see most got my point anyhow.
E For Erica Posted February 2, 2014 #20 Posted February 2, 2014 B12 East New York bus... What a surprise... And I thought the subways were bad... I said the same thing the minute I read "B12" smh.
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted February 3, 2014 #21 Posted February 3, 2014 Nah, that's all the time with this guy. Thanks for the compliment dude. I'm sure you'll blend right in with nut crushing True Religion jeans here in Cali. LOL... I have several pairs of True Religion pants and the right cut aren't nut crushing... Straight legs are the way to go.

Well I'm not for metal detectors on buses because that will lead into more problems.
FamousNYLover Posted February 5, 2014 #23 Posted February 5, 2014 Speaking off fare beating, almost there was fare beater on n20 Hicksville at Roslyn Village at Bryant Av.
FamousNYLover Posted February 5, 2014 #24 Posted February 5, 2014 Also, speaking off shooting, my B/O friend who is Puerto Rican and works for MHV and his son was killed by gun violence on August 2013 in his home country. Police is still looking for bad guy.
FamousNYLover Posted February 5, 2014 #25 Posted February 5, 2014 Too many shooting on subway/buses. B46 incident; Times Sq incident, Q111? (Correct me), Greyhound Bus incident (in Canada), and too many gun violence and it needs to be END.
