What do they do in the medical section of the hiring process? How long will they take for the process before you will know if you're hired or not?? Since I am going for the provisional position for now, will they notify me much faster than the permanent position? Thanks for all your input!

In medical, you first have a 1-on-1 conversation with your doctor, which includes a little about yourself (education, work history, etc.) and the doctor goes over the questionnaire you filled out on the computer. Next, just like in most other doctor's offices, they ask you to take your clothes off and change into a gown so they can hear your breathing better. The doctor also checks your reflexes, asks you to do simple movements, like squatting and bending over to touch your toes. Although I was not 100% successful at both, they are looking for certain things. Providing you pass medical, they will give you a 'Medically Qualified' form to take back to HR, followed by final processing and hiring (or being promoted) on the same day.

Now if the doctor's find something, they will put you on 'Medical Hold'. If this happens, they will give you a form, indicating what they found and to have this cleared by either your primary doctor or a specialist, depending on the condition. The sooner you take care of this, the sooner you will come off of Medical Hold, which means the sooner you will be hired or promoted.
